When to Get There
The Sandland museum is open year-round, and the sculptures are impressive by both day and night. For the most dramatic views, arrive in the late afternoon to enjoy the beach and take part in the many activities, then stick around to watch the sunset and see the sculptures illuminated at night.
Sand Art at Sandland
The Sandland sculptures are constructed entirely from sand and water. Each year they take around three weeks to create, with up to 25 artists working on the designs. The sculptures are then sprayed with an environmentally friendly screen that repels water. They typically last at least several months, unaffected by normal weather changes. Popular sculptures include representations of Egyptian pharaohs and pyramids, Greek gods, and world wonders like the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal.
