Assos Village...a Hidden Gem

Assos Village...a Hidden Gem

One of the most beautiful driving routes in Kefalonia starts from the port of Argostoli towards to Assos peninsula and Myrtos Bay on the northern part if the island. Assos is a tiny hamlet of pastel-colored houses with a population of just one hundred. It nestles, at the base of a hill on a small peninsula, on the north-west coast of Kefalonia and is surrounded on three sides by the stunning blue of the Mediterranean Sea. The village is almost hidden amidst thick pine forest, ringed by tall cypress trees and overlooked by a ruined 16th-century castle built high on the peninsula by the Venetians who then governed the island. It has a pebble beach and small marina lined with traditional restaurants. Wonder around the village, swim at the little pebbly beach or walk up to the remains of the Venetian Castle. **This tour operates under new operation guidelines with limited participation (50% of the seated bus), no guide and no visits on crowded places or attractions

Shared Day Trip from Kefalonia around Ithaca island

Shared Day Trip from Kefalonia around Ithaca island

We meet at 8:30am in the yacht and set sail for our first stop Aspros Gialos Beach (or Polis beach as an alternative). We then sail to Kioni village, a neoclassical gem flowing amphitheatrically down to the sea. While sailing north, along Ithaca’s coast we see on the other hand side (left) the popular Fiscardo village in Kefalonia. After lunch, we keep on our sailing to the east coast of Ithaca and see the magnificent Vathy bay as well as other charming beaches. Our destination is now Gidaki Beach (or alternative Filiatro Beach). Gidaki is considered by many people the best beach in Ithaca, while it is often ranked among the best beaches in Greece. Once we have taken our fill of this little gem of Ithaca, we sail back to Agia Efimia arriving at the port around 18:30
