The Basics

The Moët & Chandon Champagne cellars are a highlight for visitors to the Champagne region, with roughly 17 miles (27 kilometers) of tunnels and vaults filled with aging bottles. Take a guided tour to explore the cellars on foot, get a behind-the-scenes look at the brand’s historic Champagne- and wine-making processes, and sample a selection of Moët & Chandon’s famous vintage Champagne varietals. Some tours feature the season’s newest wines, while others highlight Moët Imperial or a rosé variety. Full-day Champagne tours from Paris or Reims typically include a visit to the Moët & Chandon cellars.

Small-Group Day Tour of Moët et Chandon and Taittinger with Champagne Tasting from Reims
Our guide Radames was excellent and the tours of Tattinger and Moët & Chandon could not have been better. The small group aspect allowed us to give input and stop to spend some time around the grapevines. Not to be missed!

Champagne Day Trip to Moët & Chandon and Family Winery with Lunch from Reims
So glad we chose this experience! We'd 100% recommend. We did the champagne tour our first full day in Reims and it was a great way to learn about the area, the champagne region and houses that grow there, and a behind the scene look at the industry. Jerome was AMAZING, the lunch was incredible, and everyone was so knowledgeable and made this one of our favorite parts of our trip to France. Absolutely worth it and we would definitely book again!

Champagne Day Trip to Moët et Chandon and Family Winery with Lunch from Epernay
Dear Viator Team, thanks a lot for this wonderful and exciting tour with your guide Clara. After the 3 months shutdown of corona we got the first tour to visit Moet et Chandon. We were only two persons so that was really a personalised trip. Our guide Clara was a very friendly, professional and care taking person and we felt super well treated from her. She knew everything about Champagner. The introduction has been given on a wonderful view across the wine region. Afterwords we visited Moet and Chandon with a very passionated lady and tried 2 glasses of ICE Champagne. After this tasting we visited two other wineries and had lunch with a little quiz. It was great!! Overall we spent a fantastic day and this will not be the last time. We will definitely come back.

Champagne Day Trip to Moët & Chandon and Family Winery with Lunch from Reims
My wife and I took this tour on a rainy day on October 27, 2019. It turned out to be an excellent tour/day with Guillaume (not sure of correct spelling). Based on my experience a good tour depends totally on the tour guide. Guillaume made it worthwhile in a day that was overcast and mostly raining. We visited Moet & Chandon and a couple of smaller wineries. Lunch could have been better; salad and charcuterie.

Champagne Day Trip to Moët & Chandon and Family Winery with Lunch from Reims
This tour was even better than expected! I thought visiting Moët & Chandon would be the highlight of the day (and even though it was awesome), it ended up being the least memorable part! Lunch and tastings at the tour company’s owner’s home and the local small organic champagne house were the real highlight! All of the guides (especially Suzanne) were so friendly and knowledgeable. I will be recommending this particular tour to anyone who will listen to me lol! You won’t be sorry!!!

Small-Group Day Tour of Moët et Chandon and Taittinger with Champagne Tasting from Reims
Christophe was a great guide. Gave us a quick tour of Reims city, some major champagne house locations and then on to the Tattinget house and chalk caves. After lunch on our own in Epernay we visited Moet and Chandon. Elegant champagne tasting. Only negative is lots of time spent in the van and traffic coming back into Reims but so much more fun than driving on your own.

The History of Moët & Chandon Champagne

The Moët (pronounced “mo-ett”) & Chandon company was founded in 1743, during the reign of King Louis XV. The brand’s Champagne was a favorite of the monarch and soon rose to fame throughout France, with famous aficionados such as Napoleon and Queen Victoria of Great Britain becoming quick fans. Now under the umbrella brand of LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), the brand continues to hold its prestige.
