VGP Universal Kingdom
The Basics
Rides and slides are the big draws at the theme park, with options ranging from thrilling to relaxing. For older visitors, there are go-karts, roller coasters, a haunted house, and even a bucking bull, while smaller visitors can go on swings, Ferris wheels, or Disney-style teacups. The park also offers live shows featuring everything from stunt performances to magicians, and there's a petting zoo complete with goats, pigs, and ponies.
Things to Know Before You Go
Universal Kingdom is a must-visit for families with young children, though there are plenty of thrilling rides to keep older guests entertained.
Outside food is not allowed, but there are two restaurants and a food stall inside the park.
The park is wheelchair-accessible, and wheelchairs are available to rent for a modest fee.
How to Get There
Located on the southern outskirts of Chennai, about a half-hour drive south of the city center (without traffic), VGP Universal Kingdom is right on the East Coast Road, or ECR (SH 49), which runs north to south along the coast. Bus numbers 19H, 109, and 599 stop near the entrance of the theme park.

When to Get There
VGP Universal Kingdom is a year-round attraction, though the best time to visit is from November through March, as heavy rainfall during the summer monsoon months can put a literal damper on the experience. The park is open daily from midmorning to early evening; arrive early to get the most out of your day.
VGP Snow Kingdom
Although it’s right next to Universal Kingdom, VGP Snow Kingdom offers a very different experience, re-creating an alpine world in sunny Chennai. In this indoor attraction, visitors don snow gear and head into an artificial winter wonderland, complete with falling snowflakes, a toboggan, a climbing area, and a DJ-fueled dance floor.
