The Guide, Chase Anderson, founded Savannah Ghost Walks in 2009. He is a Savannah native with ancestral roots through his grandmother. Anderson has accumulated a lifetime of experiences, folklore and hidden history research into the Savannah Historic District where he has lived for 20 years. Anderson pioneered the first Savannah Ghost tours in 1982 a he is a professional Storyteller, Historian, and paranormal researcher. The small group format lends itself to better access to off-the-beaten track locations and quieter, more immersive experiences. Finally, the locations we visit along with the unique, in depth content I bring to each site visit, is based on two decades of first hand experiences, paranormal research and investigations backed by extensive historical and folklore research. Savannah's Laurel Grove Cemetery Tour

Savannah's Laurel Grove Cemetery Tour

star-5
10
Often called The Hidden Gem & is the local's favorite cemetery!.This former plantation turned 67-acre cemetery, is Savannah's most pristine, gothic and untouched that sold out in The Victorian Age. It contains more stylized mausoleum chapels than any city cemetery, has the area's true Civil War sections, including prominent Gettysburg heroes, and is a refuge to the city's grandest and most decorative ironwork fences. It was the most inclusive of all of the cemeteries ranging in the city's wealthiest right down to a Stranger's Lot, Jewish section, slave section, Babyland, best representing the small tight-knit city. The cast of characters includes Girl Scout's founder, Juliette Low. Jingle Bell's author, James Pierpont. Savannah's original greeter, The Waving Girl. An ironclad shipbuilder, Henry Willink. Author Kahlil Gibran's benefactress, Mary Haskell. Great Women's History here. Most days our tour is the only group of living found in the cemetery giving it an incredibly private feel!

Savannah's Colonial Park Cemetery God's Acre Tour

Savannah's Colonial Park Cemetery God's Acre Tour

star-5
3
This was Shannon Scott's original 1990's tour that started everything! Colonial Park Cemetery serves as the biggest story graveyard in the whole Historic District! Its the oldest patch of city land one can visit and where you'll see materials far older than the surrounding Victorian City. In Savannah's colonial hours, this is where every town meeting, picnic, wedding, duel and public execution was conducted! Eventually it would be the final resting place of Gen Nathanael Greene, 2 signers of The Declaration of Independence, merchants, priests, paupers, soldiers and just about every character that gave blood, sweat and tears to the early colony and later nation. Less we forget how Yellow Fever turned it all into a mass grave resulting in the permanent closure in 1853. Discussions also extend to the Root Doctor culture ritualism, The Old City Jail, Conrad Aiken Birthplace, Dueling Grounds and all complete with visual images to enhance the experience.
