Join us for a scenic cycle ride from Korcula Town to the family-run wineries of Lumbarda for two indulgent wine tastings. At the end of the tour, we transfer back to Korcula by minivan. You will then visit two family-run wineries to refresh & reward yourself with delicious wine grown in the area, including two tastings of the unique white wine Grk, found only in Lumbarda. Accompanying your wine tasting, traditional appetisers will also be served at one winery.

Join us for a scenic walk, before sampling some of the island's finest wines. - Enjoy a leisurely walk around the vineyards. - Taste the delicious Grk wine. - Relax in beautiful surroundings whilst sampling tasty fresh food. - Unwind at the end of the tour either at the beach bar or on a boat trip back to Korcula Town. After transferring from Korcula to Lumbarda we will first take a walk around the vineyards. We then stop at two wineries to taste wines from the region including Grk and Plavac Mali. At the first winery, you can enjoy traditional appetisers and feast on a delicious pasta dinner at the second. To round off the tour, we will take a final stroll through the vineyards of Lumbarda to enjoy a drink on the beach or take a peaceful boat trip back to Korcula, sipping on sparkling wine as we go (depends upon availability and number of participants). Note: depending on the availability with the people we work on this tour, we may need to make changes to the itinerary.

From its early beginnings it was the home of wine grape and wine production which have become an essential part of life and survival of inhabitants of Korčula. The Statute from 1214 ( the oldest written body of laws in this part of Europe) regulated wine growing, production and trade on the island. Korčulan wines were exported to Venice and they were regularly served on the Habsburg Court. Our excursion starts at the view point of Korčula, where you can take a couple of photos. The first vinyards we are going to visit are situated in Lumbarda and are famous for Grk, an autochtonous wine sort.. It is not known whether the name derives from the bitter taste or the old Greeks who settled Lumbarda in the fourth and the third century before Christ bringing their own wine sort. ......

Grk is an autochthonous Croatian grape sort out of which white wine of the same name is produced. It is grown mainly on the central Lumbardan field on the area of some 40 hectares. Sandy soil contributes to its quality. Grk is a female wine sort so it is always planted with the male "Plavac" to enable pollination. It is not known whether the name derives from the bitter taste or the old Greeks who settled Lumbarda in the fourth and the third century before Christ bringing their own wine sort. We will take you through Lumbardan vineyards making a couple of stops at interesting viewpoints and winey where you will have the chance to try Grk. It is golden with a special nuance of green.
