This was an interesting tour and very worthwhile. Our guide, Sanjey, was knowledgeable and friendly. However, we could have done with longer at Birla House to fully visit the extensive exhibits.

How to Get There

Gandhi Smirti is located in leafy central Delhi, one of the most walkable parts of town. It's a 10-minute walk from the Lok Kalyan Marg metro station on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro and a 10-minute walk from the Lodhi Gardens. The area is easily accessible by taxi or auto-rickshaw.

When to Get There

Gandhi Smirti is open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday through Sunday. It is closed on most public holidays and on the second Saturday of every month. It's best visited on weekdays when there are smaller crowds. If you can, plan your visit for the middle of the day, as there’s a multimedia show held daily from 1pm to 1:30pm.

Delhi is home to a number of attractions related to Mahatma Gandhi. These include Raj Ghat, a large memorial park on the banks of the Yamuna River where the freedom fighter was cremated.
