Joshua Tree National Park

The Basics

Whether you want to visit on a day trip from Palm Springs or take a multi-day hiking tour, Joshua Tree is a perfect wilderness escape. Hiking and mountain biking trails abound in the park; visitors can stroll through Hidden Valley, bike down old country roads, or get completely off the grid on a customized hiking tour. Rock-climbing enthusiasts can perfect their solo climbing skills with a top-rope anchors class or take a beginners rappelling course, while photographers can snap photos of bighorn sheep, birds, and black-tailed jackrabbits.

Those wishing to cover more ground can venture deep into the desert on a van tour or luxury Hummer day trip and see highlights such as the inselberg rock formations, San Andreas Fault, and Keys View atop Ryan Mountain—the highest point in the park at 5,500 feet (1676 meters) above sea level.

Beautiful park
The park is beautiful and the audio tour was a big help. We wouldn’t have know what we were looking at or where to stop, but between the audio tour and the map from the visitor center, it was a great way to see the park. I would definitely recommend getting the audio tour if it is your first time in the park. Our favorite spots we’re intersection rock and mission valley.

Rock Climbing Trips in Joshua Tree National Park (4 Hours)
We had Brad as our guide and he was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. He ensured our safety was always a priority. He also stayed 30 minutes after our booking time so that my birthday could try a harder climb he had been wanting to do

Half-Day Guided Hike in Joshua Tree National Park
Travis was absolutely incredible! He led our family of 4 through the rocks in a way that was safety focused as well as challenging and encouraging to our level. We learned a lot about nature and ourselves. We are stronger humans because of our experience and what Travis saw in us in such a short time together. We highly recommend Travis as a guide! He is fun, adaptable, knowledgeable and a SUPER SOLID DUDE!

Half-Day Guided Hike in Joshua Tree National Park
the best guide ever!! He was so passionate about the park and it came through in the way he spoke about it during the hike. He knew so much about the park, geology, area history and hoe the rock formations formed! It was more than just a walk through the park. He was also about safety, staying hydrated and making sure i was always comfortable with what we were doing. if you get a chance do this!

Joshua Tree National Park Self-Driving Audio Tour
The historical information of the park was interesting. Due to the excessive heat in August the we did not get out of the car for each man’s mark. The time it took was much shorter than predicted.

Joshua Tree National Park Driving Tour
The tour was very informative of the desert as well as the Joshua Tree National Park. Jeff, the tour guide, had interesting stories and took time to show us the small things that we tourists would not have experienced otherwise. The photo spots were very picturesque to capture the beauty of the park.

Joshua Tree National Park Offroad Tour
It was an overall great experience. Being able to go out into the park off roading with a knowledgeable tour guide provided insight into the history, local wildlife and plants. We were lucky in that we saw a mother goat with her 2 young kids.
