The Basics

Walking tours are a great way to experience Old Quebec, as its many sights, including the Château Frontenac and Dufferin Terrace, are best explored on foot. The area can also be seen by bike and even from the air. Those interested in experiencing the old city through its food can take a food tour and sample the best of many French-Canadian eats. Most Quebec City tours include a stop at the area’s Place Royale, which is considered the cradle of French civilization in North America.

Best tour ever!
Our guide AnneMarie was excellent. She was very knowledgeable. She was also very entertaining. The best tour I have ever taken. She shared bits and pieces about Quebec that you wouldn’t be able discover on your own. A definite must while visiting a city so full of history.

Cleanliness, amenities, smooth ride, information.. Suggestions: Take an occasional break from taking and put on some music! It’ll give the travelers a chance to talk and mingle and add a party atmosphere.

Full-Day Quebec City and Cruise Tour
It was an absolutely enjoyable trip for me everything was just great and our tour guide (Eddy) was very friendly and professional and made sure everyone was feeling comfortable and safe especially to the covid safety measures, we left around 7 am and reached back at 8:30 pm, and I had all the time I needed to enjoy and view each of the attractions spots we visited, differently highly recommended tour and I may do it again with my friends or maybe in winter

Quebec City Walking Tour
Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting. It was a walking tour, but not so much walking that we were exhausted at the end. It rained a little during the tour, but with an umbrella it was still enjoyable.

Quebec City Sightseeing Tour
Very busy traffic and teachers protest marches on the day we took the tour. However Marcel did a good job driving the bus and got us around the city. Daniel gave us a good overview of the history of Canada.

When to Get There

Summer is the most popular time to visit Quebec City, and while the warm weather draws larger crowds, it also allows for al fresco dining and charming sidewalk cafés. The winter months are also full of activity and are quite beautiful if you don’t mind the cold—average winter temperatures are often below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-6 Celsius).

Highlights of Old Quebec

The winding streets of Vieux Quebec are charming in their own right, but the old city’s many monuments and museums are not to be overlooked. Particularly picturesque are the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Quebec, La Citadelle, and the Place Royale. Also worth a visit are the nearby Plains of Abraham, a historic park and former battlefield, and the beautiful Montmorency Falls, on the Beaupré shore. These can all be visited easily in one day and are included in most Quebec City sightseeing tours.
