I am delighted that you are planning a trip or day-out in Sibenik! The city that stole my heart and will probably steal yours too. So be warned. Sibenik feels like a big village and I would love to show you this city through my eyes. So nope, I am not your umbrella-wielding guide.  This walk begins in the very center of Sibenik near with Monument of Kresimir IV and finishing at the St James Cathedral. Usually this tour lasts 2 – 3 hours during which you’ll see everything there is to see. It can be prolonged though, depending on the amount of questions you want to ask!

We will take you through hidden parts od Dalmatia where only few have been. Here at the foot of the Dinara mountain, Cetina river begins a 105km-long journey to the sea. It lies across the land, then in smooth seductive curves runs into the lake Peruća where all the springs merge. With our local guides you will feel what is Dalmatia all about.

DO YOU DARE TO EXPLORE SIBENIK’S DARK SIDE? Medieval times might have been full of chivalry and romance, but not all things were following the pattern. After all, they are called the dark ages for the reason.It is a very attractive tour, since guides are costumed, and the tour is combined with the classic story about the history and sights of the city to parts that have elements of drama. It is a sightseeing tour whose theme is exclusively life in the Middle Ages in the area of Sibenik and its surroundings. The tour takes dozens of licensed guides in a way that is divided into groups and welcomes participants at a particular point in the city, recounting lesser-known historical facts related to the lifestyle of the 13th to 17th century. The guides are dressed in medieval costumes, and carry with them requisite (torches, lanterns, maps ...). It is similar to Game of Thrones, but based on real facts and past as it has occurred. This oldest native Croatian city on the Adriatic is located in the most protected natural harbour, in the centre of the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea. This is probably in the same place where some of the original Croatian settlers first saw the blue sea. Sibenik's narrow winding streets, stony houses, many staircases and the remains of the city walls give it a romantic Mediterranean atmosphere. The St. Jacob's Cathedral is the most famous building in Sibenik. It was constructed over a period of a century, and is testimony to the determination, sacrifice and belief of the generations of inhabitants of Sibenik. By many things it is unique not only in Croatian architecture, but in European architecture as well. It is entirely built of stone, no other material was used. It is unique in its brave structure of stone slabs and ribs, with no binding material; it is also unique among renaissance churches in its trefoil front facade. Finally, it is unique in the harmony of its architecture.

Knin Fortress is located near the tallest mountain in Croatia (Dinara) and near the source of the river Krka. It is the second largest fortress in Croatia and most significant defensive stronghold, and a historical town in the Šibenik-Knin County in the Dalmatian hinterland. The construction of the fortress started as early as 9th century, while the current state was brought up in 17th and 18th centuries. It reached its peak during the reign of Demetrius Zvonimir, King of Croatia from 1076, as it served as a political center of the Croatian Kingdom under him.
