excellent value for money. our guide steven (western equivalent of his Chinese name) was superb. He was so efficient, professional whilst being friendly and knowledgeable. It was clear he wanted us to have a superb day and as much time as possible on the wall. I would recommend this morning trip as later in the day it was much busier and harder to find some space for good pictures. we had opted for the lunch and it was certainly worth it. steven was waiting for us at Mr yuan restaurant and guided us to our seats with other travelers. it was authentic chinese, several dishes to choose from and plentiful. all in all superb trip.

Very nice tour. I took the transportation package with entrance. The guide also bought the cable car and slide for those who wanted (which I recommend). We had 5 hours to enjoy the wall, which I considered the perfect time. There was no additional stops, so I appreciated a lot because there was no unnecessary breaks for lunch or shops, just enjoying most of the time possible in the wall.

We visited Mutianyu which is a section of the Great Wall of China located in Huairou County about 70 km northeast of central Beijing. This section is less crowded and easier to negotiate. The tour we joined was run by Claire a Chinese woman who proved to very friendly, professional and charming. On the day we visited the weather was a little overcast yet acceptable. The lunch included was enjoyable, as was the company of fellow travellers, Claire ensured we were happy throughout the tour and had all we needed. One drawback was the drop off point that the coach took us to at base on the wall. We then had to walk up a high incline to the base of the cable car, which on reflection the coach could have easily dropped us off at the base and save the extra steep walking. Once off the cable car and on the wall the views were breathtaking and amazing. Good walking boots, plenty of water and a camera certainly recommended. On the journey back we were told that there would be just three drop off points in Beijing and not individual hotel stops, we spoke with Claire and she contacted the company and arranged an Uber to take us back to the hotel when we arrived back in Beijing. This we considered very good considering the tour did state there would be hotel return, but Claire went the extra mile in arranging a free Uber car ride.
