Overview

There are few places in all of Hawaii more historic than Kealakekua Bay, as it's the spot where Captain Cook was killed in a skirmish with native Hawaiians, and the Hawaiian monarch, King Kamehameha III was born just a few miles away. The history aside, it's also one of the best places to snorkel on the Big Island of Hawaii, and you'll have the chance to experience the beauty on this snorkeling tour from Kona. Search for dolphins on the way to the bay while admiring the volcanic coast, and after scouring the red for coral and fish, climb aboard for a lunch that's served by the friendly crew.
  • Visit historic Kealakekua Bay
  • Search for and get in the water with wild dolphins
  • View Humpback whales in winter
  • Cruise the volcanic Kona coast
  • Lunch and snorkeling equipment included

Do it! It was totally worth it! Friendly helpful crews and captain Simon was awesome giving snorkeling and diving tips. Hot shower and snacks / lunch was good too. There were returning customers for 2nd ride and we’ve booked Manta Ray ride with Simon in the evening as well.

The spot we snorkeled in was amazing! Probably the most fish I’ve seen snorkeling thus far! The crew was ok, plenty of snacks and drinks. We weren’t rushed as we snorkeled are all which made it very relaxing.

The hosts were friendly, funny and VERY knowledgeable. They kept us well fed and comfortable. We were able to see SO many dolphins, swim with fish at a coral reef and even spotted a humpback wale. We learned a bit about historical sites as well. My kids and I loved it. I can’t recommend it enough!

Had a blast with the kiddos!!

I would definitely recommend this experience!! It’s great for the whole family! We brought my daughters age 4 & 5. The girls did not enjoy putting their face in the water and can’t breath through a snorkel at this point, but there was plenty of activity above the water. The dolphins came right up to us and were very friendly and playful. Watching them jump and spin was incredible, we really enjoyed it!! I would suggest having two people helping when you get the kids off the boat and into the water, we started with the girls on our back (riding piggy back)— that really helped them feel comfortable and gain confidence. I would book this again!
