Stroll across the streets of Budapest with a local guide on this tour. Beginning at the Hungarian State Opera House, hop on the metro for a quick ride out to City Park, beloved by locals and visitors alike, and Heroes’ Square. There, see the impressive statues of Hungary’s most important national leaders. After taking a walk through the park, come to the Vajdahunyad Castle, constructed in 1896 as part of the Millennial Exhibition, which celebrated 1,000 years since the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian Basin.

Your next stop is the popular Szechenyi Spa, Europe’s largest thermal bath, before taking the metro back into the city center.

From there, encounter the neo-classical structure of St. Stephen’s Basilica, one of the two tallest buildings in Budapest. Afterward, take a load off your feet in a Hungarian cafe where you can relax with a hot drink and delicious dessert included in the price of your ticket.

After your snack, walk along the Danube Promenade, taking in the panorama of Gellert Hill and the Citadel, while snapping a photo of the Chain Bridge. Conclude your tour in the Buda Castle District, where you can take the last of your photos from the stunning lookout at Fisherman's Bastion.

Excellent tour! Tomas was full of knowledge and you could tell he is very passionate about his city! (The Pest side at least :P) The cafe stop during the middle of the tour was a nice break. Highly recommend this tour.

This was a very interesting and enjoyable walking tour. Our guide Christina was very knowledgable and took us to the most popular and interesting tourist landmarks and told us interesting facts and history about them. The tour included a stop at a lovely traditional hungarian cafe for strudels and coffee. The strudels were delicious and there were so many to choose from. You could also see them being made.

Due to a glitch in the system we turned up for our tour only to find that we weren't expected. However within half an hour our guide Monica arrived and off we went. She was fantastic. Very informative and interesting. It enabled us to get our bearings and provided us with loads of information about the history of Budapest. A lovely coffee stop. Monica gave us tips about where else to go. All in all a great tour. Thanks Monica!!

Great tour - strongly recommend it. We covered a significant area by Metro as well as walking. Stairs to top of Palace hill looked intimidating, but were not at all a problem. Worthwhile start to a visit to the city. Anna was a wonderful host.

Fun walking tour. Short trip on the Metro to break up the trip. Visited historic monuments and beautiful parks. Great way to get acclimated with the city and points on interest. Nice rest stop at an old school strudel restaurant. Ended in the Castle district with beautiful views of the city.

I got everything out of this tour that I expected. Monika was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the city and region. She made sure that even after the tour that we had plenty more planes within the city and beyond.
