Fun day trip

Interesting tour away from the city. About a 90 minute drive. We visited Kecskermet for about 45 minutes. Learned some history and time for coffee. Make sure you have Hungarian money. Visit to the farm was fun. Horse show is good entertainment and they gave away some wine. We walked around to see all the horses and other animals. Lunch is good and plentiful.

Great trip, very knowledgeable guide, good food, interesting show. Down side was van. Brakes on van were shot, metal on metal. All passengers concerned and glad that we made it back in one piece

It was a perfect day, from the relaxing ride to the farm, the tour of the farm, the guides information in Kecskemet, the horsemen, and the lovely meal.

Puszta cowboys and their beautiful horses are the best!

We REALLY enjoyed this chance to get out of the city and see the Hungarian countryside! Our stop in the town of Kecskemet was interesting, though short, but the time spent at the Puszta ranch was the BEST. We were able to learn about their history and culture, enjoy studying their animals, especially the Lipizzaner stallions. The Luncheon with a live band was terrific.

As usual it’s a good and informative guide that can make or break an excursion and Diza (hope I have the spelling correct) was all of that. Picked us up at the hotel on time and departed the central meeting point right on time. “Great, great” 🍽 lunch at the horse show. Fabulous day and great value.

Helena shared her knowledge of the entire area, spoke with humor, found shady spots to stop to talk, informed us on the best place to stop for a coffee or ice cream. Even though she presented the tour in three languages, slipping easily from one to the other, she managed to keep us captivated. The equestrian show was wonderful. Helena participated in the fun, went from table to table making sure everyone was happy with the food, etc. Helena is a wonderful guide!

A wonderful trip to see life in Hungary outside the big city. Kecskemet was a small city with interesting sights and warm people. Puszta was a farm with amazing horses and skilled riders. The meal at the farm was outstanding. This trip well surpassed our expectations.

Really enjoyed this day trip. The company sent a taxi to pick us up at our hotel and take us to the bus. Bus was comfortable and not over-crowded. Tour was conducted in English, Italian, and German, so kudos to the guide. The tour went south into the countryside to the city of Kecskemet, which has a very nice, open city plaza that includes the city hall, churches of four different religions - Roman Catholic, Calvinist, Greek Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox, plus what used to be a Jewish Synagogue which is not in use anymore as few of the Jews remained/survived World War II. I noticed the Hungarian flag flying on the City Hall had a huge hole in the middle. The guide explained that during the Soviet occupation, they put a communist crest in the middle of the Hungarian flag. In the 1990 rebellion, the freedom fighters cut the crest out of the flag, and many Hungarians still fly the fly with the hole in the middle to remind them of what they went through. Our other visit was to Tanyancsarda, an equestrian center/restaurant near the town of Lajosmizse. We were met on the road by one of the csikos riders on horseback who led the bus to the greeting station where we received a welcome drink of apricot brandy. We were taken on a horse-drawn cart to see the fields and stables. Then, there various demonstrations. I like the csikos chasing horses around a large pen, providing photographs fully worthy of a Marlboro Country ad. There were demonstrations of horsemanship, Lippizaners, and various contests. Visitors were invited to try their hand at using the whips favored by the csikos. We were given the opportunity to visit the stables, featuring the Lippizaners, racka sheep and Hungarian Grays cattle. Lunch was very well done and accompanied by roving 'gypsy' musicians. A very enjoyable day.
