Departure Point

Fundacion Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre, Avenida del Duque de Abrantes 11, 11407 Jerez De La Frontera Spain
12:00 PM
Make your way to the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and present your voucher for admission. The shows vary with the day, using between six and eight styles of choreography that features different parts of the Andalusian riding tradition.

See doma vaquera, based on techniques honed by traditional cattle herders, or watch the exquisite precision of classical dressage, as horses execute maneuvers such as “the colts,” “airs on horseback,” “pas de deux,” “passage and piaffer,” and more.

In displays of carriage driving, horses don a classical harness to demonstrate the old fashioned art, and in “work in hand,” the horses follow commands to carry out classical Haute École dressage exercises. And in the coordinated carousel maneuver, horses and riders work together for a grand finale in the center of the arena.

When the show concludes, you’ll be in the heart of Jerez, close to some of the city’s top historic sites, cafes, and destinations.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Fundacion Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre
Each show consists of between six and eight different choreographies, with the same degree of difficulty and entertainment value and scheduled by the school according to the following repertoire; Doma Vaquera; a demonstration of the skills of this Spanish riding discipline based on traditional cattle herding. The horseman rides his horse around the arena using only one hand, first trotting and later galloping: Changing the rhythm and then performing pirouettes and arreones (breaking into a gallop). Classical dressage; 'The Colts', 'Airs on Horseback', 'Pas de Deux' "Passage and Piaffer", "Domino on Horseback", "Airs above the ground" and "Fantasy", are just a few of the coreographies which make up the repertoire of the performance. Horses carry out advanced equestrian exercises to pieces of classical music that accompany them while they perform in the arena Carriage driving; horses also demonstrate their abilities by drawing carriages. These horse-drawn carriages were originally used for transport but are now relegated to sport and exhibitions, using classical harness and driven by coachmen, who dexterously demonstrate this exciting skill. Work in hand; The horse also obeys its rider even when the horseman is not in the saddle by carrying out classical Haute École dressage exercises such as levades, caprioles, courbettes, piaffe (between pillars), the Spanish walk and long reins. Carrousel; A group of horses and riders, in unison, perform advanced equestrian exercises in the arena to provide a most fitting end to the performance.

Wonderful show. Would like more info about grounds.

Wonderful show and lots of grandeur in the surroundings. Would be helpful to know about the museum, history of grounds, etc.. very little signage around the grounds with information—more would be helpful. Also there was an added charge to enter the museum. I would have preferred to pay more for the ticket and have everything included, or at least be offered the choice.

Perfect for our 4 year old grandson

We went to the 12 noon show with our 4 year old grandson and it was a fabulous family friendly event. The horses did amazing things and the ambiance was perfect for kids. Chattering of our grandson was tolerated and we even passed snacks over to him during the event. He really enjoyed the show as did we. Well done!

Great show and horsemanship. Show started 12 noon, afterwards not much time to wander around as they were closing at 2pm. Still no stable tour due to covid? They want you away on time. Get there in plenty of time to find parking. Be aware of a local pretending to be an official asked for €5 to park the car on a free car park! He then wandered off.

Packed 90 minutes of dressage from novice to high school. Horses and riders immaculately turned out, performing well choreographed drill rides. The senior riders showed passage, piaffe, pirouettes, half pass etc. The in hand section showed the famous levades, which had the crowd clapping and cheering. There was also a display of carriage driving. Not to be missed.

The horsemanship shown along with the intelligence of the horses, was a sight that will never be forgotten. it is something if you are in this part of Spain, you must put down in your itinerary as one to go and see. The show and presentation was excellent.

No refund - cheated

Tried to cancel show 7 days before performance on Viator site as flight to Spain was cancelled. Site would not allow cancellation even though it promised refund up to 24 hours before show. Lost the money even although we followed all instructions for cancellation and guaranteed refund. Feel cheated.
