Cadiz Shore Excursion: Seville Day Trip with Skip the Line Real Alcazar and Cathedral
, Jan 2020
I took a my 40 year old daughter for her birthday on a cruise with Cadiz being one of our ports. It was January 1st and everything in the city was closed; even the tourist company where we were to meet. When we called the numbers on our voucher we did not connect with anyone. We were informed the company was permanently closed. I will call my credit card company and request a full refund.
No excursion!!

What a terrible experience! This company doesn't exist! We walked to the meeting point indicated on the voucher and even the lady working at the tourism office in Cadiz told us that there is the same problem - nobody came to pick up tourists...The phone numbers we called (both international and local) are not in service! The cruise ship Celebrity Reflection tried to help us by sending 2 E-mails but no answer. So we never took the prepaid trip spending the day waiting and looking for your company. We are asking a full refund because you were not able to provide the service

After booking this tour, we found out that the operator has a bad reputation for not showing up for their tours. We tried to contact the operator the day before to confirm, but they did not answer phone and there was no voicemail. Also text messages through this app went unanswered. When we showed up at the appointed time and place, sure enough the guide did not show. Viator should remove them from their website.

We booked this tour along with my sister and brother in law for one of our cruise stops. Viator confirmed the tour and we printed off tickets. When I looked at the ticket after we started our cruise I realized they hadn’t confirmed a time. My brother in law had internet and tried contacting Sights and Bikes tour to confirm a time, they never responded. We went to the meeting spot in Cadiz the morning of our tour and they never showed up. We tried calling, our cruise staff tried and so did viator but they did not answer. So we were left high and dry.
Don’t book!

Don’t book this tour. The vendor did not respond to email and did not show up for the tour. We waited for over an hour but no one showed up.
Disaster Tour

This tour was a disaster from start to finish. First, we didn't have a bus and had the tour directed had to call and find out where it was, which put us getting started about 20 mins late. Once we arrived at our destination, we didn't have a tour guide to take us into the church. The lady who rode on the bus with us, killed time by walking us around the city for 45 mins until our tour guide showed up to take us into the church. While our lady was walking us around, she kept walking away from the group and using her phone. We were supposed to have skip the line tickets, but there was an issue and we had to wait in line, cutting out time short. On this tour, we were supposed to get to see 3 locations, have free time and lunch. We ONLY got to see 2 locations, no free time and no lunch. We didn't even have time to stop and get a drink. This tour was a disaster and we were shorted our time in the city and our experience. Very BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! We made it back to the ship with 10 mins to spare, which was very stressful.
Very disappointing, poorly managed.

I could tell this tour was going to a be a mess from the beginning. We met our tour group at the meeting location, along with a few other tours. Our tour guide didn't have a sign but all of the other tours did, so it was not easy to find our group. Then we found out our small tour of 15 or less people was actually 30 people. As we walked to meet our bus, the guide led us to the wrong bus and then could not find our bus and had to call and the bus had to pull around to our location. Once we were on the bus, I found out that they had merged 3 tours onto this bus. The tour I booked, a tour where only a ride was given to Seville and back and another tour where people purchased their own tickets to visit some of the sites. When we arrived in Seville, the group of 6 people that had purchased their own site tours got off the bus and left with our local tour guide. The guide on our bus said that we would have to find another guide because that guide was not supposed to go with the group of 6. So, the remaining 24 people waited around for about 30 minutes until the next local guide showed up. We walked to the Alcazar palace and the 2 guides (our bus guide and the local guide) had no idea what to do. They had not even bought tickets to the Alcazar and the line to get in was already long. They eventually bought the tickets and we made it inside but not before the group had to be split into 2 groups because the guides didn't know that tour groups could only have a maximum number of people in it. We got a tour of the palace and then left. When we left the palace we had about 1 hour until we had to head to back to Cadiz. We walked over to the Cathedral for a quick tour, but not before we stopped in a local store so we could shop, which no one had asked for. It was obvious this was a setup that I'm sure the tour guide got some kind of kickback for. When we arrived at the Cathedral, we didn't have tickets and this time when the guides went to buy tickets they didn't buy enough for everyone in the group. The guides only counted us 3 times before we went in, they should have counted us 4 times, I guess. The tour of the Cathedral was rushed. We also didn't have time for lunch, 1 hour free time, or the driving tour of Cadiz. As we drove back to Cadiz, our tour guide decided to stay in Seville, so it was just the tour group and the bus driver, who didn't speak English. We felt incredibly shorted on this tour. Would not recommend.

The Seville trip was good BUT....our guide was sensitive to the needs of the group, but also sensitive to people who had joined the bus tour for the ride, but were not taking the Alcazar and Cathedral. They received a fair amount of his attention...and the most difficult part of all was that the end of the free time wasn't well orchestrated...a number of the tour guests were not at the designated location. I must admit though that the tour guide had not defined this location well. As a result we waited for nearly 45 minutes for the guide to find the stragglers and get them to the bus. We were late at the cruise ship...although they waited for the group. We were rather anxious by the time we got on board. Seville is a great place visit, the Catheral is gorgeous, the Real Alcazar quite spectacular. Location great...tour not so hot.

The sights were wonderful, but the local guide provided in Seville was hard to understand and not very interesting. We were fairly bored with her and tended to wander the sights more on our own and then find the group again before leaving each location. The guide on our bus, however, was funny and interesting
