Tour Charleston
During our 90 minute walking ghost tour, our City of Charleston licensed tour guides recount hauntings and supernatural events from our best-selling book The Ghosts of Charleston. We are fortunate to have many repeat guests, and lots of tales to share, so we switch things up nightly by varying ghosts stories on every tour. There is no experience like walking enchanted Charleston at night, listening to our supernatural stories, and encountering what you will see and hear in the Unitarian Church Graveyard.
Stop At:
Unitarian Church in Charleston
The highlight of Tour Charleston's Ghosts of Charleston Tour is entering the lush, spellbinding Unitarian Church Graveyard built in 1772. Real time hauntings occur only a handful of times a year. However, since 1996, when we started what is now Charleston's oldest ghost tour, spirits in the Unitarian Church Graveyard have reached out to many people on our tour in visual, tactile and auditory ways.

Simon was amazing!

We took our tour with Simon, and he was absolutely marvelous! He was a splendid story teller, able to recite all of his tales fully from memory with no hesitation! The tour lasted almost 2 hours and we enjoyed every moment of it! Our favorite part was the Unitarian Graveyard, which this tour group has exclusive access to at night! Overall a wonderful experience, fun for all ages!

Ghost stories in a graveyard? Yes, please.

This tour was amazing. Our guide, John Sterling Poole, is a masterful storyteller, so it was the coolest experience to stand in the Unitarian cemetery under a full moon on a partly cloudy night and hear him tell ghost stories. I highly recommend this tour.

Theatrical storytelling

2nd tour with this company-really enjoyed the 1st and wanted to do it again! The tour guide we had walked so fast the group couldn’t keep up/kept losing people. By the end of the night, only about 40% of the original group were left. Also, very theatrical in the story telling to the point it was almost distracting to the actual stories. The tour guide appeared very passionate about his storytelling; however, the theatrics made it somewhat hard to follow.

Really enjoyed our tour guide. He was a great story teller. One thought to add to the experience could be to dress in character or to have a few props to add to the stories.

Best Part of Visit to Charleston
Tera

My mom and I attended the 9:30p tour led by John Sterling Poole, the tour was by far our favorite part of Charleston! There was just enough balance between scary and historical. He was a fantastic story teller and captured our groups attention from the start. A must if you are visiting, and so glad we attended the later time for the added spooky factor.
