Waste of money

This was my first Cruise experience with Spirit of Chicago. I was surprised to see a buffet style lunch during a pandemic, I was even more surprised to see that there were hand sanitizer stations present anywhere. There was no social distancing enforced and the food was awful. I actually did not feel well at all that evening. There were literally only 4 dishes aside from salad to choose from. The bar was out of almost every drink we asked for. We booked this excursion to celebrate our anniversary and I definitely regret it. The money we spent for this was not worth it al all. The wait staff was not personable or friendly.

Lunch Cruise

Overall the lunch Cruise was great. I was a little disappointed because we bought tickets and it was confirmed for the Spirit of Chicago. Upon our arrival there was no one there and we had to ask different staff members about the cruise. We then stopped by the only boat that was going on a cruise and he directed us to a booth to ask there. Finally we retrieved our ticked and it was changed to the Odyssey. No update or warning given and apparently that day we were not the only ones going threw the same issue. We actually helped a couple that was experiencing the same thing!

Left Behind

I need to say it. My family and I had a terrible experience. We all (6) arrived 5 mins earlier to board and the crew refused to let us in. Other couples/families weren’t allow to go on board in spite of the fact that they as well arrived around 10 mins earlier. My husband and I had our family together for the first time and our whole first day of vacation was totally ruined (we had to modified/cancel other reservations and ended up loosing so much money). The whole situation was very awkward. The about 20 people that were left behind never understood what happened even more when the boat looked almost empty. Keep in mind, the reservation/booking doesn’t specify anything about being there earlier.

We never got to take the cruise. You sent us the wrong departure time. You ruined my 65th birthday lunch and embarrassed in front of my family. We weren't the only ones that this happened to. How could you make such a mistake. All of the reminders had 12:30 departure.

Great Fun in Spirit if Chicago but one thing...

Being with my friend and celebrating One of their birthdays was the best part. Great Fun taking pictures with them. HOWEVER, you guys have GOT to do something about those fruit flies and house flies in the dining area, nobody wants to share great food with insects. Lastly, I originally made reservations for 6 but cancelled one weeks ago. That's enough time to have received my refund already.

The lunch cruise was a blast. The atmosphere was wonderful. The DJ did a great job getting the crowd active. I can’t say enough about the views and the warmth of the crew. Unfortunately, if you’re looking for a 5-star meal, this isn’t it. The drinks and deserts are decent though. Despite the disappointment in the meal, I must still give 5 stars overall.
