The 10 Tastings of Marrakech With Locals: Private Food Tour

The 10 tastings are a good selection for the tour. Unfortunately, our tour guide Khalid did things his own way. He told us at the beginning he likes to be flexible and do things that the guests want to do, but in reality, he did what he wanted. The first 2 hours he did a lot of talking and went on a lot of tangents and we only sampled 1 food item. The tangents would have been interesting had they actually been about the questions we posed about food and cooking, but they were all about his religion. He never really answered any of our questions. Since we had another obligation after the tour, we spent the last half of the tour trying to encourage him to end on time, thus him rushing around trying to get us the right items. It would have been much better if the guide would have talked and walked and incorporated the 10 tastings throughout the 3-4 hours, not the last half of the tour. Our tour was on a Friday, and the guide wanted to go pray during our tour this was right after he told us that there's always a way to make up prayers if one is working. I found this very unprofessional. If Friday prayer is a necessary part of his religion, then he should not schedule tours during that time. I believe the Flavors of Marrakech could be a great tour, but unfortunately, our tour guide was not professional.
