Uffizi
Giotto was the first artist that broke the normal barriers of art by used three-dimensional elements in his masterpiece, forevering changing artistic style. Next, your guide will lead you to the hall of International Gothic masterpieces, most notably, “Adoration of the Magi,” by Gentile da Fabriano. Your guide will explain that this is another turning point in the Renaissance, when art began to tell a story, instead of simply depicting characters. Your guide will truly bring the art to life, pointing out small details you may not have noticed before. Then, continue through the centuries into the 1400s, when artists began experimenting with three-dimensional space. The best example of this progression in art can be found in “Battle of San Romano,” by Paolo Uccello. Your guide will point out two of the most famous works of art in the Uffizi, “Madonna with Child and Two Angels,” by Filippo Lippi; then, “Dukes of Urbino,” by Piero della Francesca.

We are four friends 40s-50s, and none of us enjoyed this tour. The activity was not misrepresented, we just learned that we definitely do not like group earbud tours. It is just too boring. I will never book any sort of group earbud tour again. If this is your thing, there is nothing wrong with the tour.

Our guide was not very good. He spoke in a monotone, taking way too much time on each point he wanted to make. We left the group after the first 45 minutes in the Uffizi so that we could at least see the Birth of Venus and Medussa, which we are sure the group never got to see because he spent a minimum of 20 minutes on each painting--none of which were famous!
