Discover the secrets of two of Hawaii’s most captivating destinations on this full-day sailing adventure. Meet your experienced captain and crew at Port Allen in the morning, and climb aboard a 65-foot (20-meter) catamaran equipped with an inside cabin, restrooms, spacious sundecks and lounging trampolines where you can relax and soak up the ocean spray.

Enjoy a continental breakfast onboard as the vessel makes its way along Kauai’s northwestern Na Pali Coast, characterized by green sea cliffs that reach dizzying heights of 4,000 feet (1,200 meters), pocketed by lush valleys, tropical waterfalls and remote beaches. As you cruise, hear royal Hawaiian legends that surround the coastline and keep an eye out for traveling sea life including spinner dolphins, sea turtles and migrating humpback whales (December through April).

Next, head across a channel to the waters surrounding Ni’ihau, known as the ‘Forbidden Island of Hawaii’ due to its secretive community that’s closed to all outsiders. While it's not possible to visit Ni’ihau, admire the island from the water while learning about its unique history and mythology. Strap on a snorkeling mask and fins to explore the coral reefs around the island and the nearby Lehua Crater, considered among the best snorkeling spots in Hawaii.

A tasty buffet lunch and refreshments on board will keep you going throughout the day. Prepare to get wet, and bring a light jacket to stay comfortable on this unforgettable sailing adventure.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Na Pali Coast
Enjoy continental breakfast as you cruise alongside the jagged Na Pali sea cliffs, which soar to heights of up to 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) from the cobalt ocean below. Here you'll cruise by remote beaches, hidden sea caves, and waterfalls, and learn the unique geology and history behind these rugged cliffs. While comfortably relaxing out on the deck, keep an eye out for Spinner dolphins that leap up out of the water, and there's always the chance they could choose to swim along the bow of the boat. In the winter months from December-April, Humpback whales arrive from Alaska to mate and give birth in these waters, and are commonly spotted either breaching or splashing on the channel crossing toward Ni'ihau.

Stop At:
Niihau - The Forbidden Island
Known as Hawaii's "Forbidden Island," Ni'ihau is home to a handful of residents who live a traditional lifestyle, and while the island itself is closed to the public, its pristine reefs offer some of Hawaii's most vibrant and colorful snorkeling. Explore the ancient coral formations and abundance of tropical fish, and then refuel with drinks and a gourmet deli lunch before journeying back to Port Allen. Bring a light jacket and expect to get wet if you sit toward the front of the boat!

Amazing Views, Literally Like No Place on Earth! (Look it Up) OK Value.

The boat was great, the crew was awesome, super friendly and liked to talk story. The coast was incredible, breathtaking wonder that is unique to the planet and truly a lifelong memory was made. The dolphins and whales were out and brought tears to my fiances' eyes, the crew did their absolute best to make it an amazing and memorable day and it certainly was. The winter conditions could've been more detailed on the listing. I love snorkeling and was jacked to get out to the Forbidden Island, didn't know there was 25% chance of heading there due to the conditions of the ocean. While its out of there control being more upfront than 15 min prior to departure about this scenario would've been nice to temper expectations. We heavily researched masks as my fiance has braces, we picked an Aqua Lung full face mask for her comfort just to find as we boarded that they are not allowed, not cool, not stated on the listing. I think a reduced upfront winter rate would make this 5 stars no doubt, if I'm on island any other season I'd do this again in a heartbeat and give them the Excellent Rating.

What a great adventure with a very skilled and professional Captain & Crew!

We had an outstanding time on this excursion. The no sail / engine only Catamaran was a dream to travel on. With refreshing ocean spray sometimes breaking over the bow of the boat. Making this scenic / 90 mile journey very possible because of the speed of this sleek water craft. The entire Crew could not have been better. Captain Glen was just outstanding! A very good communicator who let's everyone know how to stay safe on both the journey and the snorkeling portion of the trip. We had some older, first time snorkelers who were able to conquer their fears of never snorkeling and have a great time. Captain Glen took us into some water caves in the scenic Na Pali Coast where waterfalls cascaded down on the bow of the boat and washed across those of us who wanted to experience this; cool fresh water - just awesome. Combining both a cruise along the beautiful Na Poli Coast along with a snorkeling adventure was a great way to experience some of the best which Kauai has to offer.

Amazing Views!

Views of the Pacific Ocean, the Na Pali coastline and Ni'ihau were spectacular. We saw several pods of different dolphin species, Sea Turtles and other beautiful fish while snorkeling. This is a long sail, so beware if you get seasick. Several people on our excursion (about 48 people) got sick - ick! The seas are "exciting" as they say. I enjoyed the ride, but was ready to get off when we docked. The food served is basic stuff, so if you have special dietary needs, I recommend bringing your own (I'm vegan - so this definitely applied to me.)

Great experience! The snorkeling in Hawaii is not as great as it in St John. I think a lot of that has to do with the rough waters. Bring your own wet suit. We were here in April and really could have used one. The food was actually REALLY good and they had tons of it. It is definitely a must do. If you don't have the time to dedicate a day, Blue Helicopters is an amazing way to get it all in.

The tour was great despite the less than perfect weather! The company was very professional and informed us ahead of time about the weather concerns and offered rescheduling/reimbursement. We stuck to our booking and enjoyed a great cruise though with more waves than expected. The view of the Na Pali coast was very impressive and the snorkling was great they even had diving glasses with prescription!
