We had a wonderful tour! The food was excellent and the mojito was the best I’ve had here. Every stop was great and the group was small which was nice. We will be revisiting the Cuban restaurant today for lunch!

The tour started off great with an amazing cuban restaurant. We enjoyed the walking and knowledge of the city. The Rum bar was a cool experience and the drink was delicious. We also enjoyed the history of the rum bar. When we got to Mangos is where it made a very bad turn. We were supposed to be seated at a table with fans which is about 98% of the restaurant. Instead they seated us on couches with no air movement in the back of restaurant. When we asked for a fan so we could actually enjoy our visit we were told by our guide "you are on a tropical island". Well we obviously know that seeing as we chose to come to Key West but what we did not choose was to pay for a tour to be placed in the back corner. Everyone else in the restaurant got to enjoy a nice breeze seeing as they had at least 50 fans throughout the establishment. The Mahi tacos were extremely overcooked and dry and the conch fritters were undercooked. I would recommend removing this restaurant from the tour and when a guest asks for a little air while eating don't make a rude remark by saying well you are on a tropical island. The last stop was for key lime pie the place was very nice but again its like the restaurant had no idea they had a food tour coming. Again we were placed outside to choke down some key lime pie with no water or anything. We do food tours all over the world and this by far was the worst experience we have ever had. We will continue to do food tours but never with this company and I would recommend you look elsewhere for a different experience.

Hi Ashley, first off, thank you for your feedback. It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the first half of the tour so thoroughly. The restaurants & bars featured on our tours have been thoughtfully hand-selected and curated to create an experience that has led to numerous 5-star reviews over the last six years. In regards to the experience you all had on the tour, we can say with pride that this is the first time we’ve ever heard negative feedback about the quality of the fritters & fish tacos. I am sincerely sorry if they were not up to your taste. I would like to clarify a few things to other travelers who might be reading this review: at Mangoes, we always sit in the same place, in the beautiful garden by the glowing ficus tree. It is not the back corner of the restaurant, but rather a place where we have enjoyed our tastings for years. Likewise, we apologize if you took our guide’s remark to be rude or condescending, as she meant no harm. The weather is out of our control and we try our best to remind guests of their locale. Lastly, although you did not feel enthralled with our tour, I am happy to know that you will continue to take these types of culinary experiences. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your vacation in Key West. Best, Analise
