Livorno Food and Market Tour

This tour was awesome! Saw many highlights of Livorno and not just tourist attractions! Our guide was great. She was so knowledgeable about the area being a life-long resident. She personally knew many people along the way of the tour! The food was great, the company was great as well. I recommend.

Our morning in Livorno spent with Laila was amazing. Truly the highlight of the excursions while we were on our cruise.The passion and enthusiasm Laila has for her home is infectious. We sampled local specialties and learned about the colorful history of Livorno. Everything was delicious. The torte was simple but absolutely delicious. They also gave us the recipe so I'm going to try to make here at home. The local drink ponce was also amazing - and I don't even like rum! I wish we could have spent more time there and would love to go back. Thanks so much Laila! You are a treasure.

The Livorno market tour is now one of the highlights of our cruise. Laila was an enthusiastic, and humorous guide who brightened up an otherwise gloomy day. Everyone seemed to know her,and we had a delightful morning sampling all manner of eats and drinks. The bars,markets, and cafes were unique. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic day on our food tour. Our guide was very knowledgable extremely friendly and funny. Listening to her interact with all of the locals was great! She is very good with making you as comfortable as you can be. Everywhere we went we enjoyed more than the last place, hard to find anything negative to say since we would do it again and again. Thank you for the wonderful experience, none of us will ever forget it. When you come to the Big Island of Hawaii look us up, you will have a place to stay! Miss you already!

Laila was a wonderful enthusiastic and well known local tour guide of Livorno. She provided some history of Livorno, but the focus was on the "feel" and hospitality of the locals, through food/drink. We had a generous display of cheeses and samplings of local food/drink. Who couldn't purchase local Italian produced pasta and olive oil to bring home.

This was a fantastic tour. Our guide, Laila, met us, and immediately made us feel at home-- and led the tour with only the two of us. She was extremely knowledgeable and personal. Starting wtih a cup of expresso at a local cafe we walked through the city seeing the highlights as well as surprises such as unwaterlevel/underground store and meeting rooms We continuted through the market where Laila's interactions with her friends and vendors gave us a feel for what it is like to be a part of hte community.We tasted absolutely delicious burrata, parmesan, and reggiano cheese, followed by olive oil and wine. Next was a visit to the fish market to taste marvelous fish--kinds we don't get at home. Our last stop was at a local eatery to have a sample of the famous Ponche-. (YUM!) We chatted the entire time, sharing life stories, and by the end, we felt like we had a friend. We cannot praise Laila's tour hightly enough.

Laila was excellent. A fun, relaxing tour of the city with tastes of local foods thrown in. A little history, a little walking and visiting made for a great tour. Laila was personable, professional and it was a delight. Great day tour ! Thank you Laila!!!!

This walking food tour was a very pleasant surprise. We had visited Rome before and wanted to see what Livorno had to offer. Laila was our guide and was very personable, knowledgeable and kept tour interesting. Tour group was small at six and we had all questions and insight of the area answered. Did not realize what a great city Livorno is with the history, great market, and buildings. The city has a population of about 180,000 and is well worth the visit.

My husband, daughter, and I had a wonderful time with Laila. She's lively, knowledgeable, and fun. We opted for this tour as we have been to Florence and Pisa several times before having lived in Provence (France) for a year. One of the best tours we took instead of a cruise excursion. Livorno is a great place with an engaging history.

Such an interesting and interactive tour! Laila is knowledgeable and amusing — it was like taking a walk with an old friend on a beautiful day. We were introduced to several locals who provided tastings of delicious Livorno flavors and we learned about its history and life today. Experiencing this tour is a great value and highly recommended.
