Highlights & Hidden Gems With Locals: Best of Marrakech Private Tour

Adil was an amazing host, he was very knowledgeable, funny and took great care of us! It is really worth having someone showing you through the town, we loved Bahil Palace, the walk through the Souks and that Adil also asked which details are most interesting to us and adapted, so went into a herbory / pharmacy with us - we really enjoyed the time with Adil!

When we arrived in marrakech we had a bad experience. The next day we had this tour with Jaafar. He gave us great insights in the history, the day to day live and gave us great tips. He changed our opinion on marrakech and made us love the place. Thank you Jaafar for the great experience.

This was our first time in Marrakech so we wanted to learn about the Morrocan culture and have someone show us around the city. Our tour guide, Aimad, was seriously amazing! He was personable, incredibly knowledgable, and very friendly. He made us feel safe as we walked around the city and taught us a lot about the culture. At the end of our tour, Aimad recommended a few places to eat where locals go and actually left us at a lunch spot where the food was incredible! The name of the restaurant is Chez Lamine. Definitely recommend that restaurant for authentic Morrocan food and we highly recommend this tour!

Guide arrived a bit late but once we got going was very knowledgable.He was a little heavy on the religious presentation versus historical Made great recommendation re a dinner location A good primer to old Marrakech

We don't normally choose to do something this but glad we did, Aimed was very good and informative, we see places we would not have gone on our own or even known was there. We are mum and daughter and felt very confident walking the souks after our tour. He made all of the history sound interesting and fun as well! This was also a private tour!!!

Our guide, El Hassan, was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He was very easygoing and adapted the schedule to our needs, even stretching his time with us to make sure we weren't rushed in doing the things we wanted to do. His English (and French) is excellent. We learned a lot about the city and would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Mohamed. He was knowledgeable, kind, and patient. He answered all of our questions and took care to ensure that we were enjoying ourselves. He's very popular in Marrakech too! He explained certain customs to us and the history of the city too. If you are looking for a tour of Marrakech, look no further. We liked our guide Mohammed a lot, he was really easy going and interesting to talk to. His English was excellent and he was a good guide and gave us some good tips for places to eat and ways of finding our way around. However, we found the way this was listed on Viator to be VERY misleading. Firstly, I would argue the use of the phrase 'Hidden Gems'... at no point did this seem applicable. Secondly, the listing implies that the tour should last approximately 4 hours, and ours didn't even last 3. Thirdly, as other reviewers have mentioned Medersa Ben Youssef was closed for 3 years, so this should have been replaced or removed from the listing. You also have to pay to get into the Palacio da Bahia, which is listed as 'tickets free' on the 'What To Expect Itinerary'. Speaking of the 'What To Expect Itinerary' and what Viator claims was included in the experience, there was a lot that did not match up to ours. -Aforementioned misleading info surrounding the Palacio da Bahia, Medersa Ben Youssef, and the much shorter duration time. -Although we stopped briefly in the Mellah for some mint tea, we did not in anyway 'Visit a spices souk and learn about the intensive flavours of the Moroccan cuisine! Taste Jewish sweets typical for each Moroccan childhood: cou cou. Visit a local bakery, see the baker on duty and taste warm fresh bread'. We did none of those things. We also did not visit Riad 11 Zitoune, or have mint tea and cookies with the locals who live there. We also did not visit the Jardin Secret. We were left here at the end of our tour and again, unlike the Viator listing the tickets were not free.

MED was a very good tour guide, he was attentive and very informative. His English was excellent and nothing was too much for him.. We would recommend this tour.

Our guide was terrific - informative, relaxed and able to take the tour at our pace. The one disappointment was to discover that the Museum Ben Youssuf has been closed for restoration for nearly 3 years but Viator is selling this as part of the experience. Consequently we had to pay extra money to visit Bahia Palace - it was a highlight and definitely worth visiting but an unexpected cost.
