Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Your full-day electric bike tour departs in the morning from Vieux Port (Old Port). Before taking off, your local guide will offer a safety introduction to the intuitive and easy electric bike. Fit with pedals and a small motor to propel you forward, this modern ride allows you to see more of Marseille and the surrounding region in less time.

First, head south out of Marseille along Corniche Kennedy, catching scenic views of the village of Vallon des Auffes, Prado Beach and Madrague Montredon. You’ll disembark in the quaint town of Les Goudes for some independent exploring. Wander the secluded village and watch fishing boats drift through the cove. Enjoy a lunch (payable directly to restaurant; see sample menu below) or grab some food of your own.

Hop back on your bike and wind farther south through the wild and dramatic Calanques region. Admire the distinctive limestone rock formations – called the ‘fjords of the French Riviera’ – that wrap around pools of crystal-clear water to make dramatic inlets. Stop at La Plage de la Maronaise (Maronnaise Beach) for an invigorating swim, before heading on to the stunning Calanque de Callelonque (Callelongue Cove). Here, watch small boats drift in and out of the cove and locals lounge on the beach.

To end, you’ll return to Marseille to explore some of city highlights including green spaces like Parc Borély or Campagne Pastré – two lovely public parks – and the magnificent Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde, a Neo-Byzantine Catholic church perched atop Marseille’s highest peak. Enjoy panoramic views of the Marseille’s labyrinthine streets below, the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and the bustling Old Port.

Follow your guide back down the hill to the starting point, where your tour ends by late-afternoon.

Awesome Experience

What a trip, the e-bikes are easy to ride and the ground you cover to the calanques - 30km - is amazing. The views! The sights! The water - soooo cold, but a once in a lifetime experience. Lunch was delicious. The stop off at the Notre Dame on the way back was tough getting up the steep hill, made much easier with the e-bike, but the view once up there was breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour to anyone, just brilliant.

Anthony was a great guide. He told interesting stories of Marseille’ history. He managed the tour’s pace to assure the cruise guest’s need to get to their ship with the speed the group could maintain.

My sister and I (early 30s) just took this tour last week and loved it! We were hesitating as we're relatively active and didn't know if this would be too slow moving but the pace was great, we got to see a lot of the beautiful Calaquentes, and our guide was awesome!! Very accomodating, friendly, went out of her way to ensure we had a great trip! Best way to get a tour around Marseille if there for a quick trip.

What a lovely review of your tour of Marseille with E-bike Tours Fada Bike. You are right -- the Calanques along the mediterranean seaside are a must-see, and the best way to do so is by electric bike for sure. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. Best wishes :)

This was such a fantastic tour and I really can’t say enough about it. Our guide was Manu, who was friendly and knowledgeable and helpful and respectful- a real gentleman and he just made the trip so delightful. I loved every minute of riding the bikes down the coast and swimming in the Sea in an area that felt like our own private beach! Take note that you will be biking a long way (he said total of 30 km RT) and through some traffic, and climbing rocks to get to the beach. But the e-bikes are practically miraculous- we biked to the top of the city’s highest mountain to see the basilica which while challenging was definitely doable on the ebikes. If you exercise, this trip should be no prob for you. I think this tour was a major highlight of the trip to marseille. Manu’s passion, professionalism, knowledge, and fun spirit makes him the perfect guide. I loved this tour!! Merci merci!!

Dangerous, manic bike trip

The guide was very friendly and made a point to get to know everyone. Food for lunch at the chosen restaurant was great however you have to ride in and out of busy, dangerous streets. My husband scraped his arm on a building and I hit a car mirror due to getting squeezed by traffic. Our time wasn’t managed well so while lunch and swimming were great, we never got to see Norte Dame as expected. We were also plagued with breakdowns - pedals falling off, chains falling off, flat tires and electric features working sporadically. Do not bring your teenage children on this. If you want to see this area, my suggestion is a taxi or bus tour!

My fiancée and I spend two and a half weeks travelling the south of France, northern Spain and Paris. This was easily the best tour of the seventeen days. The tour guide was knowledgeable and personable and the scenery was incredible. The views of the city from the mountaintop Basilica were breathtaking, yet still paled in comparison to the views of the Mediterranean in the Calanques National Park. Everything was stunning. Although the roads were hilly the bikes were electric so it was a very relaxed day of sightseeing. If youre in Marseilles do yourself a favour and add this to your to do list. Its a tour of a lifetime one you will not soon forget!
