  • Piazza di Santa Maria delle Grazie , Piazza di Santa Maria delle Grazie, 20123 Milano MI, Italy

Meeting Point at Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie - Meet your guide in front of the entrance of the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazia at Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie in central Milan. The piazza is located between Corso Magenta and Via Fratelli Ruffini.

  • Piazza del Duomo , P.za del Duomo, Milano MI, Italy
See the chief sights and landmarks of Milan on this info-packed guided walking tour. With your guide by your side the entire time, you'll be within earshot of the city's fascinating history. Start off at the gorgeous Duomo, a huge and ornate gothic structure and one of the most beautiful churches in the world.

Then stroll over to nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, maybe one of the most aesthetically pleasing shopping malls on the planet. Its impressive 19th-century glass ceiling is worth a look in and of itself. After walking through the Galleria, stop in front of La Scala, the city's main opera house and one of the most renowned in Europe. Built in the late 18th century, La Scala has seen a who's who of famed composers and musicians in the last 200 years.

Head over to the trendy and cool Brera district, crammed with funky boutiques, trendy bars and hip restaurants. Home to the city's Bohemian set, the neighborhood's streets are picturesque and make for a pleasant stroll. Eventually, you'll find yourself at imposing Sforza Castle, where you can take some time to admire the late-medeival fortress.

The last stop and the highlight of the day is your skip-the-line admission to Leonardo de Vinci's The Last Supper. After you breeze past the line, head inside the former food hall of the convent. You get 15 minutes in front of the masterpiece, so use it wisely. Make sure you step back and see the painting in a larger context: that the monks who ate there felt like they were dining with Jesus and his disciples.

After your 15 minutes are over, head outside where the tour concludes.

Please note: The above itinerary is applicable to options departed from Piazza Duomo only. If you select a departure time from Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie , the tour will start at The Last Supper and finish with the walking tour around Piazza del Duomo. Visits inside the Duomo are not possible on Sundays or religious holidays. On these days, a detailed tour will be given from outside of the Duomo
    Itinerary
    Stop At:
    Duomo di Milano
If your time in Milan is limited, or if you want an overview to guide your exploration, this one-day walking tour is the perfect introduction, taking in all the most prominent sights – including guaranteed entry to see Da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper’. Led by your local, English-speaking guide, you’ll visit some iconic sights and some on the path less travelled. You’ll get to skip the line at Milan Duomo and experience this world-famous cathedral without waiting – unlike the city itself, which waited nearly 600 years for the incredible building to be completed. The tour will pause again so you can admire the medieval Sforza Castle, before delving into the cobbled streets of the Brera district. This is the beating heart of Milan’s social and cultural life, as your guide will explain. You’ll hear about all the famous artists and thinkers that have called Brera home, as well as some more up-to-date recommendations of places to revisit later for a drink or a meal.
    Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
    Admission Ticket Included
    Stop At:
    Castello Sforzesco
You'll see another architectural wonder at the Medieval Sforza Castle, which your guide will explain from the outside.
    Duration: 10 minutes
    Admission Ticket Not Included
    Pass By:
    Brera District
Along the way you’ll pass through the cobbled streets of the Brera district where you’ll find the heart of Milan’s social life. With your guide leading the way you’ll hear about the artists and intellectuals that once called these streets home, and get some tips on where to visit for a meal or a drink later.
    Pass By:
    Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
Our next stop is the impressive Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a 19th century glass vaulted shopping arcade. Brimming with fashionable shops and cafés, it is often called the drawing room of Milan for its importance as a common meeting point. Passing through the Gallery we arrive at Piazza della Scala, the square which houses the world renowned Scala Theatre – Milan’s Opera House since 1778 which is still in use. Some of the greatest musicians and singers in history have performed here, notably Giuseppe Verdi whose famous operas, such as Falstaff, often premiered in this very theatre.
    Stop At:
    Il Cenacolo
It all builds to a viewing of Leonardo Da Vinci’s phenomenal mural, ‘The Last Supper’. Often imitated, never bettered, this masterpiece is carefully preserved, and only one group is allowed to view it at a time. This can make tickets a challenge to acquire, but yours are included in this package, along with special Skip the Line Access – so you’re guaranteed your full 15 minutes with the fresco. Listen as your guide points out the details that earn ‘The Last Supper’ its place in the history books. After just one day, you’ll find your relationship to Milan forever changed for the better.

Failure of Viator to secure tickets to the Last Supper. Two days before the tour they notified us that the tour would not include the Last Supper.

Tour Cancelled Less than 24 Hours Before Departure
    Elizabeth_C
    , May 2022
The company cancelled the tour less than 24 hours before it was supposed to go. By that time, tickets for other tours/to see The Last Supper were sold out. The company offered several options, but the details were vague and it was difficult to get in touch with them and ask questions about the options/get clarification in a timely manner. It was my last day in Milan so that definitely limited what I could do. The last minute cancellation and poor communication would make me not want to book with the company again. I ended up taking a later tour that included viewing The Last Supper but not the Duomo. I had a hard time getting information on where/when the tour was supposed to meet. I also had to cancel my later plans (I really wanted to see The Last Supper). The actual tour guide was lovely and very informative. I also enjoyed getting to see The Last Supper but the last minute cancellation and poor communication really caused a lot of stress. Honestly if I could have booked tickets to just see The Last Supper that would have been easier and less stress.

I booked this tour for the last supper, which was cancelled two days before, advising they could not get tickets, I booked the tour in January paid and confirmed, don’t book this tour for the last supper book it separate direct on the website. The rest of the tour was ok, unfortunately for us there was a concert on that day which made it difficult to move around and hear the guide who tried her best

After numerous confirmations the tour was cancelled at the last minute leaving us high and dry. The Last Supper tickets were cancelled and we had to scramble to get new tickets. I did not feel like we were treated well in terms of them helping us.

My mom and I were in Milan and did this tour. Daniello (Daniel) was an entertaining and very informative guide. We had a larger group than planned due to a guide not showing up but Daniello did an awesome job keeping the group entertained, informed, and welcomed. The tour started at the Duomo, then walked through the Galleria, and saw several other sights in Milan before going to see the Last Supper painting. It was totally worth all the walking to see and marvel at the painting. Highly recommend this tour.

This was a private tour in English conducted by Katerina who was friendly and was a wealth of knowledge on all the places we visited. The Duomo and Leonardo’s Last Supper were absolute highlights but I also enjoyed visiting the Sforza Castel and will return there. Katerina left no question unanswered and her stamina for this tour was excellent.

Marika is one of the best guides ever and we've been taking tours for 40+ years. She's a joy to be with!

    , May 2022
We had Marika all to ourselves and she was wonderful. She brought the Duomo and La Scala to life and has so many stories. Pace was perfect and she was very flexible. Also pointed out good eating places along the way. Wasn't her fault but the Viator office messed up the names on two of our tickets for the Last Supper and it took 15 minutes to straighten out.

We are very sorry about your experience. Like many companies in the travel industry, City Wonders faced an unprecedented post-pandemic surge in demand during the past few weeks. This combined with Covid-related impacts caused operational issues, which we are working around the clock to resolve as quickly as possible. What you experienced is not the typical excellent service that City Wonders is known for, and we truly apologize. Please contact us directly if you have any extra queries with your full name & Viator booking reference at customer.service@citywonders.com.

Seemed like one long, long recitation of dry facts. Nothing was brought to life or made remotely interesting. I only hung in there for the visit to the Last Supper, which was the last 15 minutes of the tour.
