This Moab whitewater rafting tour begins in the middle of town, when you meet your professional whitewater guides at the central Moab office. From here, you’ll receive an intro and safety briefing and get loaded up in the van, which will shuttle you out to the Fishers Tower section of the Colorado River. With its soaring spires, vertical canyons and deeply red-hued rocks, this section of river feels like blissfully remote, despite being so close to town.

Before boarding the raft for the splash-filled journey, get fitted with a lifejacket and listen as your guide explains the course of the river. Your guide will propel the raft by oars, so you can sit back and enjoy the scenic, sometimes bumpy, cruise. The rapids on this section are Class II-III and are the largest in early summer snow melts. If you choose to paddle an inflatable kayak instead of riding in the raft, your guide will provide a paddling lesson and make sure you can follow commands.

As you make your way down the Colorado River, keep your eyes peeled for birds and wildlife that can often be seen on the banks, and listen as your guide explains the history and geology of the rocky canyons. At the end of the journey, after splashing down the river or going for a swim, your trip ends with a short ride back to downtown Moab.

A Great Rafting Experience
, Sep 2021
Although the rapids were only class when I visited, it was a great introduction to whitewater rafting. Plus, the water was perfect for swimming. It’s also a nice exposure to the geography of the Colorado River. The guides and other staff are experienced, friendly, and emphasize safety. I would definitely recommend this experience for families with high school age kids or older!

Swim through the rapids

The rapids are very mild at the end of the season so it’s much more fun to get in the water to ride the rapids. Our guide was fantastic!

I gave them a 4 because the guides redeemed the experience but the office staff and staff member outside of the office when we arrived had a horrible attitude and were really rude.

We were on the "cool" raft with our guide Danni. She was very informative and fun. Will recommend to friends.
Advertised as class 2-3...
, Aug 2021
Advertised as class 2-3 rapids but are actually 1-2 which isn't disclosed until you are on the river. They don't disclose water levels and geographical changes. False advertising.
Great Experience
, Aug 2021
This was a great trip on the river. It was perfect after four days of hiking to spend a few hours on the river. The water level was low so the waters were rather calm, but that didn't diminish the fun. Our guides (Tiyana and Dylan) were great, they knew a lot about the area and were very friendly. This was the perfect half-day activity and a wonderful way to see the Colorado River from another vantage point.

Hunter was a great guide. Explained many things along the River and made it a lot of fun. Made us laugh the entire trip.
