Nuremberg Day Trip from Munich

Immediately we were told by our guide that it was going to be a rough tour. It was a Saturday and the Christmas markets were expected to be packed. We started in Munich with 21 people then once we arrived added about 20 more people to the tour. We were herded around the city like sheep being told to hurry and take photos and that we’d only have 3-4 minutes per stop. Even though I’m a fast walker it was very hard to keep up with the guide who was holding an unopened umbrella rushing through the streets, barely stopping to see if we were all still together. The worst part was that we almost missed our train back to Munich. The last part of the tour was to take a bus, then a train, then walk to the Nazi party rally grounds. It was unbearably cold and windy and our guide didn’t even explain what we were viewing. He would just stop and hold up some photos and basically lecture us about the Nazi party. We made it back to the train station with 3 minutes to spare before the train left. Overall, I wish I had just taken the train myself to Nürnberg. This was a waste of time and money. We were promised time on our own for lunch and we didn’t even get that. Our guide suggested some take away sausage sandwiches that were barely filling so we could move on to the other sites quicker. Would not recommend this tour to anyone. What a let down because the Salzburg tour I took with the same tour was incredible.

Chris was fantastic guide. Very noligable. He did go a little fast for some people. But was very good at pausing for everyone to catch up and he did not start talking until everyone could hear him. That was great for everyone.

We had Chris as our guide and he was AWESOME! The tour is an all day adventure with travel to Nuremberg by train. Once in Nuremberg we visited to historical part of the city, including the Nazi Party Rally Grounds. Visiting this site was quite emotional. Chris is a historical researcher so he provided a lot of information, probably more than the average guide. We had free time for both lunch and shopping. Highly recommend this tour!

Great review of the city’s history...would have liked to linger longer at some sites but time was limited in order to cover it all. The nazi rally grounds were well presented as Chris our guide did a good job of describing events that had taken place . Again, wished we had been able to see more. A worthwhile overview. Definitely saw more than if we had tried to cover Nuremberg ourselves in one day.

The tour guide was very informative and had lots of energy which was needed for this walking tour. Not a tour for those out of shape but well worth it if you are in shape. The Nazi Party Rally grounds were especially interesting helping to bring some reality to the images of the past. A very sobering experience.

Mat was an EXCELLENT guide. While the day was long, it was jam packed with touring and Mat never let us guess what was happening next! Wish there was a little time for shopping at the open market, but that would have made for an even longer day!

Mat was a wonderful tour guide-great sense of humor coupled with an extensive knowledge of the area and its history.

Mat was an AWESOME tour guide....very easy to understand and had a great thorough explanation of everything we were seeing and the history of the area My only complaint was there wasn't enough "alone to wander" time in Nuremburg. Lunch/wander time was only about 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend going on this tour to see the sights & hear about the history.

Kevin was our guide and did a great job. Very informative and really knew the history. Be reading for a lot of fast-paced walking though.

This was a mid size day trip to Nuremberg. Frustrating part was almost missing it because time we were given was wrong + finding group in station was not easy. Leader was knowledgable, + informative. Going back to private or small group tours....get to see more.
