Join up with your local guide at the prearranged meeting location in downtown Nassau. Then, walk together to your first stop, Smuggler's Beer Garden on George Street. Here, get your first taste of real Caribbean rum and cast your mind back some 300 years, when unruly pirates roamed the streets.

Continue to three more local spots, where you’ll fill up on rum cocktails along with conch and lobster fritters, rum-infused white chocolate and other regional delicacies.

Along the way, uncover some of the city’s lesser-known sights and hear stories about the island’s rum-running, swashbuckling past. See, too, the historical buildings that played a role in the profiteering business as storage for liquor about to be transported overseas.

Make your final stop of the tour at John Watling’s Distillery. Walk around the Buena Vista Estate, where the distillery is situated, and learn about the production of rum as well as the 17th-century pirate for whom the distillery is named.

Tastings include (subject to change with notice):

Do it day 1! Ask for tour guide Mikey!

, Nov 2021
We had a blast. We did this tour on our last day and wish we did it on our first, bc it will give you the lay of the land, you’ll visit places you’ll want to return to, and you’ll better appreciate the local history. Our guide Mikey was the man. He knows his stuff, he’s funny, he knows everyone in town - he made sure we had a great time. We knew in the first 5 minutes he was going to be a great guide for us. Each stop was fun, the drinks were great, the food was excellent. The mixologist Julio at the last stop set us up nicely. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a fun, casual tour, who likes history and rum. And hopefully you can get Mikey as your tour guide. Ask to see the video of him dunking a basketball…!

This tour was a blast! Our tour guide Mikey was so funny and knowledgeable, he learned everyone’s names and cared to get to know each of us throughout the day. We learned about rum making, the winery on the island, their chocolate factory, historical facts about downtown Nassau and ended with a mixology session! It exceeded all my expectations and I was smiling the entire tour. The tour is all walking so wear comfortable shoes but we really got to see the streets of Nassau that aren’t completely marketed for tourists by walking. The tour ends with local conch fritters! Overall I’d highly recommend this tour, it was a great way to learn and see more history of the Bahamas and support some local businesses. We even made friends with the people in our tour group and hung out with them throughout the rest of our vacation!

Best tour and tour guide (Fox) ever!!

This tour was so much fun and Fox was an amazing guide! He was able to provide not only history and humor but also facilitated conversation and connection within our group. To be able to walk around the city and feel totally safe was amazing. He always made sure we stayed together and even escorted across the streets to make sure we were safe. We ended the tour at the beautiful art gallery where we were treated to the most beautiful rum tasting and lovely snacks! The staff there also participated in our conversations and were very charming and accommodating. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in seeing a bit of the city, hearing a bit of history and trying a lot of rum!

The tour was definitely worth it! Saw a lot of local spots otherwise we wouldn't have seen. All of the places we saw, everyone was friendly and courteous. Learned a lot from Nassau on the tour and the locals. The drinks were amazing and Julio's food at hillside house was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Definitely a most do for everyone who visits!

Our guide, Mikey was awesome! Very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. It was a great way to get insight into the Nassau culture and history. The rum tasting was fun, and we learned quite a bit about how rum is made and how aging plays into its taste.

I went on this trip on Saturday afternoon with my wife and we both thoroughly enjoyed. We were staying in Paradise Island and I thought this sounded like a great opportunity to see more of the Bahamas. Out guide Mikey was excellent - very friendly and funny - and we explored a block of downtown Nassau and drank plenty of rum. Would highly recommend!

Fun tour

Mikey was a great guide...knowledgeable and quick witted. We enjoyed walking from place to place instead of the traditional driving tours. Lots to drink along the way. Though I would have enjoyed sampling the local JW rum. Would recommend regardless.
