Destrehan Plantation and Large Airboat Tour Combo from New Orleans

Absolutely fantastic tours! The plantation tour was super educational with much to look at and ponder. The large airboat was a blast and was not too wild. We had a fantastic tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the alligators. We saw lots of gators! Make sure you bring cash to tip!

I would not do it again or recommend. It would be better to drive yourself and pay the prices the day of. Huge markup for these tours. No time for lunch AT all. Bad time management from the tour guide at the plantation so we missed the second tour. Overall not the greatest and lots of complaints.

Captain Ernie is the best. Loved the boat ride. My grandson had a great time. Didnt get to touch an alligator but saw a lot of them in various sizes come up to boat.

Wonderful trip. Nanatte was our guide and had lots of information. We got there early and only two of us on the tour which gave us time to really enjoy the housr.

Due to booking, we weren't able to visit the Destrehan plantation but we were to upgrade and visit the Oak Alley plantation. What an AMAZING plantation with an interesting history. The grounds were beautiful. Great restaurant & snack shop available. Gift shop offered great samples.We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The Airboat Swamp tour was OUTSTANDING!! Captain was HILARIOUS and very informative of the bayou history, commerce & the wildlife! You will NOT regret this tour!!

So fun. Seeing the plantation was awesome. The swamp tour was awesome on the airboat with captain Dewey. Saw tons of alligators!

Worth your every buck! Let me tell you it was a very instructive, fun and overall very wonderful and forever-lasting experience. I went by myself and hope to come back with my family next year. Let me start with our bus driver: he picked everyone in the group at each hotel. Man, he is the BEST tour guy I've had in a long time. He knew the whole history, land, architecture, popular culture, entertainment world such as movies, etc. about Louisiana. He has been doing this for years now and worked in all kinds of jobs. He told us he is from Baton Rouge and has lived in New Orleans for some years now. You could really tell he loves his job and knows SOOO much. My only regret is I wish I had gotten his name to make sure I get him again whenever I visit Louisiana with my family in the future. Even though I didn't go to the Destrehan Plantation because I was the only person in this tour, I visited Oak Alley and I learned so much about how life in the plantations were for these plantation owners and their slaves. The Swamp Tour was amazing! It lasted a long time (very much worth your every dollar) and we went deep into the marshlands, saw all kinds of animal life. We could pet wild alligators if we wanted to and felt comfortable with it. Our tour guy was funny, friendly and would tell all these crazy stories about his life there in the swamps in Louisiana. He was very knowledgeable about Louisiana swamp life as he grew up in that environment.

Both tours were awesome. Plantation big house tour was the only part guided, and our tour guide had so much knowledge. Swamp tour was amazing. Your guide was funny and also full of knowledge and explained different things throughout the tour. Purchased the tour with transportation, which was comfortable and relaxing as we went both to and from the tours.
