Fantastic tour, well worth the cost!

This tour was well worth the cost! The history was so important for our family to hear and see. This part of our history is not covered as it should be in schools today. The staff at the plantation and the air boat were fantastic and happy to see us. We saw 5 alligators in the swamp and the plantation grounds are kept in pristine condition. The art work is powerful and a must see. Our driver, Brian, was hilarious! He was very knowledgeable about the city's history. We had lunch at another plantation which was delicious. We were picked up around 8am and returned to our car a little after 5pm. We had a party of 6 and were easily accommodated. It was such a great day!

Slavery was not as pretty as Gone with the Wind's portrayal

I had wanted to go on this tour for awhile, working on research of slave history. This included lots of stories and not a glamorize plantation experience. 1 1/2 hr. Was just right. Intro in gift shop was very well done. Loved the sculptures of the children.

Brian was a very entertaining host, welcoming and friendly. His guests are very important to him. The Whitney Plantation was so educational and moving. So many facts and stories. The airboat tour was a lot of fun. Very relaxing, and got to see swamp critters.

Nice tour. Overbooked so we got a private driver

For some reason our tour got overbooked, but they sent us a private driver to drive us around and narrate us. Brian was very knowledgeable and very likable to talk to. The tours were nice. The plantation was a nice place to learn about the effects of slavery and how things transpired. The swamp boat tour was great. Depending on the season, it’s either an hit or miss. On 5/16/21, we saw a few gators but they weren’t too active but the scenery was pretty and nice.

Wonderful but LONG day

Both experiences were wonderful, and our driver was funny and fantastic. Keep in mind this takes up the whole day really, and there may be long periods of waiting for the driver to take you from site to site. Pack food as well!!

An educational tour with an adventure twist

So glad I decided to do this tour. Brian was a wonderful guide. He has an infectious laugh and joie de vivre that made this tour very memorable. There are a lot of plantation tours but consider Whitney if you want to learn from the perspective of the enslaved. It was eye opening and so moving. Joy the guide at Whitney was wonderful and I left the tour curious to learn more. For the swamp tour, we got to see many alligators and some loval birds which was very nice. Please consider your options which boat you want carefully.

Great Day with Brian

We had a great day with Brian. We were the only passengers so we had a private tour in a sedan. The guide Brian was knowledgeable and fantastic company with a great sense of humor. He added a short stop at Oak Alley where we had some delicious gumbo, a quick stop in an excellent gift shop and the chance to see the exterior of the property. He pointed out many spots along the way. After the planation we went on to the swamp tour. It was chilly but sunny and we saw two alligators. Better sightings in warm weather. The guide did stop to pick up a snake and we saw many birds. Boat was noisy and MUDDY - do not wear clothes, shoes, purses etc that cant get mud on them

We loved our day with crescent city tours and both tour locations. Our guides in both places were informative and moving, and the transportation to and from was second to none. Brian is great company for all of the journeys - Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
