Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Choose a morning or afternoon pickup from the French Quarter and climb aboard your coach for the ride deep into Cajun country. Watch the changing scenery as the cityscape transitions into expansive wetlands. You coach delivers you to the launch point across the Mississippi River, where you’ll transfer to an open‐sided, covered boat and set off on the fun and educational ride.

Your native guide will take you on a wildlife‐spotting expedition through this legendary Louisiana terrain. Glide along the water, viewing the lush greenery and abundant local wildlife, including nesting alligators, egrets, raccoons, snakes, and giant nutria. Some wildlife are more easily spotted during the warmer months of the year.  Get great photos and learn about the history and mystery of the swamps, including the culture and ingenuity of the Cajun people who have populated this region for almost 250 years. Your guides will share stories about Cajun music, bayou lifestyle, and culinary traditions — like the creation of Louisiana’s signature gumbo, as well as information about the region’s passionate efforts to preserve the wetlands.

Your coach returns to the French Quarter by mid‐afternoon or evening.

Disappointing.

Disappointing. If you do a swamp tour opt for an airboat. The pontoon boat went straight to an alcove where two gators were waiting for marshmallows. No looking for gators, no mention of other wildlife.

Best part about our "family trip" to NOLA was our swamp tour!! We have 12 and 15 year olds and they really enjoyed it. Our tour guide, Sean/Shawn/Shon, was great! Lots of info and he fed the gators marshmallows from a stick, making them jump for it. They also take a couple pics while waiting on your boat. They were $38ish. You get (2) big ones framed together, (4) smaller ones, and (2) frames for them (magnets or stand ups). The kids now have their own pics to remember the best part of our trip! Oh, and they have a giftshop with a white albino alligator named Sugar 💜

Great tour! Guide was knowledgeable and very funny. We saw tons of gators. I had a couple of littles with me that were nervous to go on the tour. By the end, they both declared their love of gators. Teens also loved it. Would recommend 100%.
