This activity will end right where it started.
Make your own way to the meeting point, close to the Eiffel Tower, to meet your guide and small group in time for a morning departure time. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned minibus, relax on the journey to Giverny.

Start by visiting the former home of Claude Monet and learn more about the Impressionist master as you stroll the beautiful gardens, known for their pretty flowerbeds, lily ponds, and Japanese-style bridge. Next, stop for lunch (included) at the Moulin de Fourges restaurant, set on the banks of the Epte River, before continuing to Versailles.

Spend the afternoon exploring the magnificent Versailles Palace, starting with a guided tour of rooms such as Louis XIV’s suite and the Hall of Mirrors. Then, stroll around the beautiful gardens, and watch the famous Musical Fountain Show (every weekend from April to October).

Finally, return to Paris, where your tour ends back at the original departure point.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Fondation Claude Monet
You will be driven from Paris to Giverny, in the comfort of an air-conditioned minibus, where you will start your day with the visit of Claude Monet’s property. Located at the edge of Normandy, about 50 miles north of Paris, Claude Monet’s Home is one of the most popular tour destination around Paris. There you will discover the famous gardens created by the most famous of the Impressionist painters often referred to as the father of Impressionism, though not the first to have painted in « a style that would become known as Impressionism ». You will enjoy the sight of the well-known Japanese bridge in the midst of its flowered paths and wather-lily ponds, and the house, with its pink crushed brick façade, where the leader of the Impressionist School spent 43 years from 1883 until his death in 1926. After a morning spent in one of this most inspirational settings, you will head off to the banks of the Epte River where you will have lunch at the lovely “Moulin de Fourges” restaurant, a 200-year-old mill. The architecture of this listed site, dating back to the 18th century, draws its inspiration from hamlet of Marie-Antoinette at Versailles.

Truly a wonderful experience!!!

We had a phenomenal experience going to Giverny's House/Gardens and Versailles. I think it is so important to note how wonderful our tour guide, Christophe, was. He was so knowledgeable about Monet and Versailles alike and was able to give us a personalized experience. We were in a group of 8 and took a nice 9 seater van to each place. Monet's house and gardens were simply beautiful. There are just so many flowers, and we learned that along with the Japanese gardens, Monet had one of the biggest collections of Japanese art. The house was a mix of whimsical and historic - very cool to see. We had lunch at a picturesque restaurant, Le Moulin de Fourges. We were served three courses, each better than the next. If I remember correctly, they started with a pate of three fish, then chicken and scalloped potatoes, and finally an apple tarte. There was local red and white wine available, along with bread and water (both still and sparkling). We did not have much time left after lunch, but the restaurant does have fun games, such as giant Jenga and giant chess, on the grounds to play. After lunch, we finished the day at Versailles. Christophe went and got us our tickets and audio sets (to listen to his narration), and was able to get us ahead of one of those gigantic Viking cruise groups. Again, Christophe knew so much and was able to share great facts about the main rooms. Every room there was just wonderful - crazy to see all of the gold and detail that went into each and every room (and the shear cost of it all!). When torrential rain threatened to ruin the end of our day, Christophe was able to bring us to a cafe to fuel up and keep warm. Then, we visited the gardens very briefly before leaving for the day. Overall, I would highly recommend doing this as a small group experience as you will truly get a personalized tour at each location.

Great tour...bad lunch...guide spoke poor English

The tour itself was wonderful and a must see. Our guide did not speak English well so I would make sure you confirm you have a good speaking guide. He was wonderful but not yet ready to do American tour. I would skip the lunch because it takes away from Versailles and you could eat there and who wants minced fish and Apple Pie in France anyhow. I loved the small group and highly recommend the same. We did not have enough time in Versailles and also would have liked to know about the rental golf carts and train that would have allowed us to see more. Our guide was such a nice nice man but we wanted to be able to understand and it felt as though it was too soon for him to be on an English speaking tour which was such a downer.

Very nice small group of 9 of us lead by a pleasant and knowledgeable guide, Michelle! Enjoyed gardens and home of Monet as well as lunch with group conversations at the mill more than crowds of Versailles.

Great tours, lunch was amazing, a little hard to hear the guide clearly through the headsets, her mask might have been the problem! But overall fantastic your company, would reccomend! They went above and beyond navigating us through all the road closures due to the Tour de France!

Michele was the most wonderful guide! She was knowledgeable and gave us just the right amount Of information about Monet, Versailles, Giverny and sights along the way. The day was long but well-paced and comfortable. The vehicle was comfortable and lunch was absolutely perfect (they accommodated our vegan diets easily and upon request). This was by far the best guided tour I’ve ever had and would say it was worth every penny.

Felt a bit rushed at both venues. Definitely need a whole day each. Commentary was very good. Having a small group is certainly the way to go. Ricardo was very good.

If you have limited time and want to see both Giverny and Versailles…

, Jul 2022
Clearly if you are booking this trip you are well aware you’re doing a lot for one day. We definitely had plenty of time at Giverny to walk the gardens, see Monet’s home, and walk through town to the church where he was buried. Lunch was nice - the setting was superior to the food. Versailles was far more rushed: one hour guided tour inside and one hour at the gardens. We were so tired and it was so hot (we visited during a heat wave) that we didn’t care that we didn’t have a lot of time to explore but if seeing a lot of Versailles is a priority then you should do a day solely for that. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

My daughter and I had a wonderful day on this tour. We loved that is was a small group (9 total including our guide/driver). Monet's house/garden was fantastic, and the lunch at a nearby spot was wonderful. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and really enhanced our experience. I will warn that Versailles was extremely hot and crowded on our mid-July tour, no fault of this tour company! Just something to keep in mind.

I absolutely loved how we went to Monets gardens and house first and then to Versailles. We kind of missed some of the crowds at Giverny because we were there first thing in the morning. Our guide on the way took back roads and showed us small villages along the way. Versailles was great but it was hot and crowded but it still was beautiful. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very professional.. I learned a great deal from her and would highly recommend her and this tour.

Small group (8) tour in a mini van. Very pleasant and knowledgeable guide! Garden was visited first before it got very crowded. At Versailles we were provided with individual tour talky boxes with earbuds. This helped us to hear our guide’s explanations because it was a crowded and louder environment.

Our drive/tour guide was Oliver. We actually felt unsafe in the van as his driving was careless. He honked the horn more times in 1 day than I have my entire life of driving! No guided tour at Giverny. Very little info provided in the van. Lunch was mediocre at best. Versaille was fabulous but the tour was not. Oliver had absolutely no sense of humor! He asked if we wanted to see this room or that room when we should see it all! We were rushed thru the palace with way too much time in the gardens. Very expensive trip that provided very little for the cost.
