The best, stress free way to see the island!

Telmo was our tour guide for three days. There were three couples in our group. He asked us what we wanted to see and built an itinerary around our interests. He answered all of our questions and told us about the history of the island. We saw amazing sights, ate delicious local food, and had a wonderful time exploring this beautiful island. Telmo was wonderful and I would 100% book with him the next time I visit. We all had an amazing time!

Words cannot begin to describe the beauty of this island! Our tour with Telmo was perfect from beginning to end. By the end of our three days with him, we felt like an old friend was just showing us around. Telmo was friendly, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable about anything we asked him. Had we tried to self-navigate we would have seen half as much and had a far more stressful vacation. This tour was the best money we've spent on vacation in a long time!

Mariano was absolutely brilliant. So knowledgeable and friendly and super with the children. He managed to fit in everything on our wishlist and more and we had a brilliant day. We would highly recommend. Normally we hire a car and explore but this time I was able to totally relax and enjoy getting to know this beautiful island and gaining so much more understanding because of Mariano’s expertise.

Our guide, Mariano, was FABULOUS and we had a PERFECT day with him! We started with a relaxing coffee stop, enjoyed breath taking vistas along our way to Sete Cidadas and learned so much about the history of the people and the island. Our lunch stop he suggested was a favorite of our entire 2-week trip too. We even fit in kayaking and paddle boarding as well as a stop at the tea factory. He’s a wonderful person, well versed in his knowledge, enthusiastic and tuned into his customers interests. Truly, a perfect day! (I tried to upload photos of our PERFECT day with Mariano on our tour, but the site had technical issues.)

A totally amazing 4 wheel tour with Felipe! Possibly our best day in the Azores. From Sete Cidades to Fire Lake and so much more, it was just awesome. Felipe is so knowledgeable and passionate about his home island, he added an energy to the day that was super infectious. We fell in love with this beautiful island and cannot wait to return. We hope Felipe can show us the east side on our return. Cannot recommend this trip enough. Make sure to ask for Felipe!

Filipe was our tour guide and could not say enough good things about how he was able to deliver an unbelievable experience for us. We are an older couple that would not have been able to hike the areas that Filipe was able to deliver us to. He catered the trip to the weather and even took us back to the best sites that earlier we were not able to have a clear picture of the views. He was so knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything about the island and how it was created. He kept referencing a map which made it very easy to see the whole island and how it was created. We were on 4 different islands and by far this was one of the best tours. The price for a whole day, guided and catered to you tour, personally could not have been beat. You could not have rented a car and navigated to all of these areas by yourself for the same price. Highly recommend and especially want to thank Filipe for making it a great experience. Dolfim was an amazing tour guide and us everything we need on an 8 hour tour. He was informational, funny, polite, and constant professional. We learned a lot about the island, had a great lunch, and he coordinated a great dinner. We only saw 1 side of the island so when we return we will book with him again. Highly recommend.

We had a fabulous guide, Telmo, whose passion for his homeland, people and history enabled us to truly experience San Miguel. We loved our time with Telmo so much that we scheduled another tour with him the next day. Telmo said he learned everything from the owners of the tour company, T4W. That given, do not hesitate to book with them for a truly memorable tour.

We only had a few short days on Sao Miguel, so we booked a private tour with the hopes of seeing as much as possible. I sent over an extended wish-list the day before, and Telmo was able to connect us with everything we hoped for! He truly went above and beyond to make the most of our day together, and had terrific recommendations for viewpoints and interesting sights, while sharing lots of knowledge at every stop.
It was terrific to get a full day with someone who knows the island so well, and who is committed to providing an excellent tour experience. Telmo is a great guide - I'd gladly book with him again next time we visit.

Filipe our tour guide tok exzellent care of us. We had the Impression, it was his goal and misdion to show us his beautiful island. We visited Sete citades with the alles, the northern shore line, a pineapple plantation and even our wish of visiting a tra plantation was fullfilled. We had a great traditinal lunch. What a great day- Filipe thanks for showing us your beautiful home.

We were picked up on time by our guide Telmo in a very comfortable 4x4 and over the next eight hours saw the main sights of the north-east and center of the island, including the spectacular Lagoa das Sete Cidades. Much of the trip was done on agricultural trails, giving a different view of the countryside. Telmo was the perfect guide, an excellent, careful driver, friendly and attentive to our wishes without being intrusive, and he provided a wealth of interesting facts on the island, its history and geology. By constantly checking on weather conditions he succeeded in timing visits to avoid the rain. We feel we saw a lot in the time available, much more than we would have done by ourselves, and the trip was good value for money as it was tailored to our wishes and offered a high degree of comfort. I would recommend it without hesitation.

We had heard about this tour from a recent traveler to Ponta Delgada. She had visited there 4 times and always toured with Delfin as her guide. Thus, we had high hopes that this would be a wonderful experience and we were not disappointed. Delfin cheerily greeted us as soon as we disembarked our cruise ship and immediately made us feel welcome on "his" island. As we drove around he expertly shared a great deal of the history with us, told us stories of the attractions, and stopped for amazing photo opportunities. At mid day he took us to a local pub where we met the owner and dined on delicious local dishes. He seemed to take every opportunity to show off this gorgeous island and provide us with local experiences. He also ensured us that he had a plan in place so that no cruiser should be concerned with missing their ship due to any unforeseen circumstance. We would definitely take this tour again and hope to return so that Delfin, or one of his team, can continue showing us the opportunities to explore this lovely island. Thank you Delfin and Alice!

It is hard to describe our experience with Telmo objectively without sounding like a deranged internet stalker - but our eight hour tour was flawless. He picked us up in a modern AWD Jeep and spontaneously tailored a tour to fit our tastes exactly - I got the impression that no two customers ever get the same experience, every booking is unique. The highlight was the hike up to the top of Faial de Terra, exploring the history of the abandoned village of Sanguinho, and the steep hike back down again. Our guide was humorous, personal, engaging and knowledgeable. Felt more like hanging out with a friend than a tour guide.

We had a full day tour with Talmo and it could not have gone better. The great part of getting a guide is he able to know where to go and when to do it, as you could drive all the way to Lago de Fugo an then the visibility is horrible. He asked us what we were planning the rest of our trip,so he didn't double up. We told him we were into hiking so he took us to great hiking trails. If you only have a few days on the island this is a great way to make sure you hit the highlights. We stopped at a great lunch place and found parts on the island we never would have found ourselves. It was like touring with a relative or long lost friend. Highly recommend and ask for Talmo!
