Educational and tasty!

Very enjoyable - learned a lot about the history of chocolate and were able to participate in various stages of the chocolate making process. Especially enjoyed trying a chocolate tea made from the shells of cocoa beans and the Mexican hot chocolate at the end. Great family activity. 18 year old autistic son enjoyed the experience - small, quiet setting with personalized attention.
Very Fun

My boyfriend and I had such a fun time on this workshop. It was so interesting to learn about the history of chocolate and of course get to taste the chocolate at the end! Our teachers was wonderful as well!

This was such a unique and fun experience. Our instructor taught us so much and we loved the hands on aspect of the workshop. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun way to experience chocolate.
Chocolate + culture + history = !!!

The Bean to Bar Chocolate Workshop was great! Our teacher was extremely knowledgeable, and also very friendly and welcoming. We learned about the history of chocolate, and got to make a variety of different types of chocolate that were popular throughout history (starting with the Mayans and Aztecs, and then tracing the globalization of chocolate production to Europe). Everything was delicious! Highly recommended.
Amazing fun!

This was a great time! Super cool seeing the whole process from Bean to bar and many steps in between with local traditions. Would highly recommend!

I traveled with a chocoholic and we both quite enjoyed the tour. Srta Fernanda is truly an expert and fun to hear.
Senses instead of adrenaline

We loved our whole experience from learning about growing and harvesting cocoa beans to roasting beans, grinding beans, trying husk tea, making chocolate, and sampling hot chocolate. This was a welcome change for our teens who usually love adrenaline adventures to a more sensual experience (also great for someone with a broken arm...). Our guide was funny, knowledgeable, patient, and just made the whole experience great for all of us. Would definitely recommend this for anyone who loves chocolate! We took so much of our "home"-made and self decorated chocolate home and it is so delicious.....
Fun afternoon and chocolate!!

Fernanda was wonderful, great personality and very knowledgeable. Had Cacou tea, roasted the cocoa beans, made cocoa paste, made chocolate, picked molds and flavors for our bars. Had Mexican hot chocolate… was very fun, and had a beautiful view too…
Great Time 💛

We are a little COVID crazy but before starting the table was not wiped down. It was very informative, but a little disorganized. His broken English was ok but not great.
He gave a good history of chocolate, the production and consumption worldwide.
He didn’t realize his hot plate was not hot enough to roast the beans. So he took them to the kitchen and cooked them and brought them back.
We used 2 processes to grind the beans, that was cool. Made a coco tea out of the husks and then more of a hot chocolate drink. Then a bowl of prepared warm chocolate appeared in front of each of us and we filled a mold.
Great Cocoa Drinks and Chocolate History

Did the Bean to Bar workshop and it was great! Juan was great and took us through the whole process of where the cocoa bean originated, what the pods looks like, how it’s harvested all the way on how it gets made into the chocolate we eat today! We got 3 different hot cocoa drinks that also had a history of how they originated and the different variations. You got to shell beans, grind beans and help in all aspects of the drink making. At the end we each got to make out own chocolates which was fun!

Tasting freshly roasted cocoa beans

The class was so much more than we expected. Erickthe explained history and the process of chocolate in such and easy to understand and relaxed manner. Everyone took part in making various historic drinks which were so basic but delicious and then the chocolate candy topped off our class. Erik is patient and seems to really enjoy what he is doing which made the class quite enjoyable.
Excellent Experience

We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.
