Fast Track Access Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel Tour

The most memorable thing was Viator’s lie that there would be a guided tour of Saint Peter’s Basilica. That was the reason I booked the reservation. Equally memorable was the fact that the directions are unclear. There are 3 places where the meeting place is discussed. Only one lists an address. Good luck if you don’t see it.

Jeanette was totally awesome! So knowledgeable about all the historical facts and background. The one big disappointment was, this tour was to include “and St Peter Basilica!” We were left on our own after the Sistine Chapel which was disappointing…

Our tour guide Jeanette was phenomenal… she was great with giving us the details on the art and the history of the various pieces without being longwinded or boring. We enjoyed her sense of humor, knowledge, and relatability to US visitors. All that said, because of COVID, direct access from the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter’s Basilica was stopped (obviously this is the Vatican’s decision, not the tour operator’s). This was not advertised at all and in order to get into the Basilica, we had to exit the facility, take a long walk, and then go back through security and could not skip the line. Because of time constraints, we had to move on because of how long the Basilica’s line was and could not experience that from the inside. The tour description should be updated so long as this closure exists and it soured the overall experience despite how great the tour was up until that point.

We met outside Vatican City. Once group was together the guides took us past lines, picked up our headsets and got us on our way. A great way to see everything

There is so much to see on this tour that there is no way to see it all. It is a fast paced tour but our guide, Felix, was awesome! He showed us the highlights, which was still a little overwhelming. I know we would've missed a lot had we tried to do a self guided tour so I highly recommend this tour. If you want to spend extra time anywhere you need to avoid the guided tour.

We never thought booking would be this easy. Thanks to our tour leader, Arianna, we visited all parts of the museums, Sistine chapel & Saint Peters Basilica. She explained everything in detail and very good English. Highly recommended!

It was an informative tour. The tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable. I will recommend this tour to all.

Our guide was friendly and shared lots of interesting info with us during the tour. She told us ahead of time about the etiquette required at the Sistine Chapel -- no photos and no talking. So it was annoying with so many people crowded in there who were talking loudly while taking pictures despite the guards attempts to silence them. If you plan to visit this amazing place, please show some respect.

This is a fast paced tour. Make sure you have walking shoes on. Hard to understand tour guide even using personal hearing devices. You do get to skip the waiting lines!

Our impression of the Sistine Chapel was it is overwhelming. Enjoyed having a tour that prepared us ahead of actually visiting the chapel. It made our time in the chapel, museum and basilica so much more meaningful. We visited in late October when the weather was in the 70s. A much better time than in summer with heat an crowds.
