Returns to original departure point
Leave the cruise port of Salerno, and travel along the coast toward Positano. The route is scenic with bends that give way to expanses of blue sea and mountain-side villages. Stop for photos on the journey, then take a break in the town of Positano, known for its pretty houses that are stacked into the hillside.

Stop for a light pasta lunch in Conca dei Marini, then, with your appetite sated, you’ll continue along the Amalfi Coast to the ancient maritime superpower of Amalfi. Make use of your free time to explore the streets, or pay a visit to the Cathedral of St. Andrew to admire its different architectural styles. A boat ride along the coast is another possibility, although this is at your own expense.

Later, travel onward to Ravello, the high-in-the-hills town that overlooks the Amalfi Coast. Spend an hour here to check out Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, then start your return to Salerno. Your trip ends with evening drop-off at the start point.

The trip was fantastic. Mariangela and our wonderful driver Pasqualle couldn't have been better! We were not able to reach our departure point so they came to pick us up and we had day that we'll never forget. How Pasqualle was able to safely transport us on that road I'll never know! It was a truly amazing day and we made some wonderful family memories!!

Our tour guide was very ineffectual. When first on the bus, she said virtually nothing for the first 30 minutes. For the rest of the tour, her commentary was very limited, other than telling us where to go & where to meet again.

It’s a wonderful place and our guide did it justice with her descriptions. The lunch was great. We had a terrific experience and it was worth the cost

What a great excursion. This Amalfi tour was one of the highlights of our cruise. The guide and her driver were ready for us as soon as left the ship in Sorrento. The nice thing about this tour was that it was a small van (15 people) so navigating was easier than a large bus. As the driver concentrated on driving our guide described the areas along the coast we visited. she was very knowledgeable and seemed genuinely enthused to be along for the ride. We stooped every 30 -45 minutes which gave us stretching time and there was always something to see and learn about. A stop to the lemonciello factory was a restroom break as well as gift stop. but well worth it! Once we reached our lunch location we dined with the others at tables of 4 and it was very relaxing and not rushed at all. If we were to ding this tour on anything it would be the somewhat small lunch of pasta and salad but the quality and taste was great. we just wanted MORE! Once on the road again, we began our return via a different route so it was never the same thing twice. Our final stop in Ravello was beautiful with its open piazza and high altitude viewing. Each stop was well timed to use the restroom, shop or take selfies. again, the size of our van was perfect to navigate the sometimes 1 1/2 lane winding roads. Our driver was a magician! We were dropped off a stones through from the ship and our guide even shared her email address with us to share the group photo she had taken earlier with the entire Naples/ Sorrento valley behind us. Highly recommend this tour for couples, families or even a solo trip.

This was an amazing day. Best because we were part of a very small group - 6 of us all together. Our guide Anna was fabulous and was so organised that she managed to arrange an additional side tour for a very small additional cost of 12€ each on a boat at Amalfi which was great because we got both land and sea perspectives of this amazing coast. We can fully reckoned this tour! Thank you Anna for a wonderful day and for seeing the magical effect of the kissing elephants!!!!!

Wrong route, wrong side of the bus

The Amalfi coast is beautiful. From Salerno our small group (not) of 18 left on time. At 6’1” the day was spent with my knees jammed into the seat in front of me and my back contorted to that of a child’s. We drove by Pompeii next to Naples then Sorrento then the Limoncello factory (kickbacks?) for a bathroom break so it was 1:45 before the Amalfi coast was in view again. (The Amalfi coast is visible from Salerno.) If you sat on the left side of the bus, well too bad because the great view will only be from the right side. This tour should go up and back on the Amalfi coast so both sides get the view even if the distance up the coast is reduced. Only short stop to take in the views in addition to the Limoncello Factory with no view the pleasant lunch and the two towns’ brief visits. Less driving would be better. Better yet, take a boat on a self guided tour as our guide recited a few inane stories on how this or that got it’s name will quickly be forgotten.

The Amalfi Coast with Max

This was a great excursion in and of itself. However, with Max as our guide it was fantastic. He is an outstanding guide and the best we have ever had. Ask for him! He made a rainy day "sunny and bright" with his knowledge and great personality. I highly recommend this trip.

Amazing Experience ~ Only Way to See the Amalfi Coast

Viewing the Amalfi Coast with Viator was the best!! The tour guide and the driver were excellent. I loved her accent and the information she shared with us throughout the tour. Driver got us through some tight spots safely. Small group tour of this region is the best. We were able to get great views being in a van rather than a bus or with a large crowd. We got to visit the Limoncello factory as well as visited Positano, Ravello and a couple of other stops along the way. Had free time to look around a couple of the cities and enjoy some gelato (of course!). It was an absolutely magical day and we would definitely do it again with Viator. We were back to our cruise ship on time ~ no worries!

Awesome tour!

This tour was simply fantastic. They picked us up in the port of Salerno from our cruise, and started with a nice driving tour to the north side of the Amalfi coast. Our tour guide (Marco) was very knowledgeable and pointed out several sights along the way and history of the area. We made a few stops for scenic photos. Our first full stop was at a Limoncello factory (YUM!). We then stopped for lunch at a great restaurant with fanatic views. From there we traveled on to Amalfi itself where we got plenty of time to walk around and do some shopping. We finished up with a trip to Ravello, where again we were given plenty of time to do our own thing. The trip really made us feel like we got the most out of our day in port and we would certainly recommend it to any family or friends going to that area!

Driver was excellent, especially considering the tight winding crowded roads... but little commentary along the way.
