Allen our driver was incredible! Smart funny and entertaining. Such a fun and intimate way to see the city and learn the history. Everyone smiled as we drove by! Way better than a double decker bus tour.

Perfect San Fran tour

Our tour guide Alan was so much fun and so knowledgeable, music playing timed exactly with where we were driving through, and we 100% recommend this tour to anyone especially if you are not from a big city. There is no way we would have been able to see as much of the city as we did without this tour!

Love Tour Experience

Judith was an amazing tour guide. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone had the greatest experience. The only difficult thing was that it became hard to hear her speak when the car was moving because it was so loud. Maybe installing some type of small microphone could be helpful to hear everything being said. Another small thing to just note, is that I bought 4/6 seats and thought we would have the bus to ourselves but it was shared with another separate party—not expected but it was okay, just something to be aware of. The trip included way more beautiful parts of the city than I anticipated and I learned so much even though I’m from the bay area. The music definitely made the trip uniquely nostalgic and put a smile on everyone, even the people outside of the bus. Definitely worth it!

Bad Tour. Good People.

I have done one of these VW tours before (a different company, I believe), and it did not come close to measuring up. It was more of a tour of Golden Gate Park with a drive to and from it. There were ittle facts & narration about neighborhoods or sites we drove past. At times our tour guide was too quiet to hear in the back (I am young and have great hearing, so I was whispering to my parents what I did hear.) While Golden Gate Park is cool & I did learn a fact or two about it, it is still the same type of large park in any big US city with a variety of activities to do. Sorry, but if I wanted to spend my time there, I'd do it outside a moving vehicle. And we did not need to drive in a circle to see the museum buildings. I also was under the impression that we would have at least 2 more stops to stretch or take pics, as the site I ordered the tickets through alluded to. We stopped in the first 20-30 minutes, and never again. I have lived in Marin for less than a year and have gone into SF a few times, and the only exposure I've had to the area apart from Marin living (very different from SF/surrounding bay) is the other VW tour I did 2-3 years ago. While in the back, I was adding, expanding upon, or sharing additional historical, random, funny, etc., facts while we drove since it seemed our driver didn't know all that much or was leaving a lot out! We drove through some important areas, but the reason was not shared, and not many other tidbits/facts were shared. What was the summer of love? Why is Haight-Ashbury significant? What about the Castro? Tenderloin (there's an important history there & it was portrayed as bad people and homeless; there's more to it)? Twin Peaks? There was no mention of anything queer, and in SF that's pretty damn important. I know it's not a social justice tour, but a tour of SF inherently includes some social justice or just basic history. Our guide was kind, friendly, funny, & personable; nonetheless, the stops, volume, and facts shared were heavily lacking.

John was a fabulous guy and this tour was truly amazing! We have been to San Francisco several times but this tour introduced us to all the various areas of the city and it's parks and sites. The music during the tour was spot on-reflected the area in which we were driving which was cool. John was our personal photographer too and took awesome pics ! Highly recommend this tour!

What an amazing time, and John was simply outstanding indeed! He definitely made the tour 5 stars! We went places the huge tour buses couldn't, and between the narrator in music it was a pleasant experience.
