San Jose city, between avenue central and avenue one on street 4, we have the central bank of costa rica, in front of the main entrance we have a monument with small green people, this monument is known as the monument de los presentes,there is where the we will be waiting to start the tour.

The tour ends at Mr Sloth Coffee Shop, a very special cafeteria of fine coffees and chocolates, where we will taste coffee food and cook dessert.

This was the perfect way to experience San Jose in a few hours! My friend and I had so much fun trying snacks/fruits/coffee, visiting important monuments, and making our own cheese empanadas. I am vegetarian and allergic to nuts, and San Jose Urban Tours did a great job of accommodating my dietary needs. Our tour guide, Dinora, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!

Fun and delicious experience of San Jose

We went on a sights and bites tour with my husband, two teenagers (14 y.o.) and one 8 year-old. We really enjoyed trying different local foods from the 2 food markets and also to hear about the local history and see different landmarks and neighborhoods in the city. Our guide Angel was amazing in his descriptions of how the city was evolving and putting it in the context of the development of Costa Rica in general. His stories were fun to listen to and he was trying to connect with all members of our group. He also gave us a chance to try very cool local food options - the raw turtle egg in tomato juice was definitely not something I would have come across otherwise! Many less exotic options were also available, and everyone in my family, including an 8 year old, was interested enough by the stories to try most of them :) Definitely recommend this tour to everyone!

Being our first time in Costa Rica me and my niece were told San Jose wasn’t a great place to stick around and explore, but we booked a tour anyway since we had time to kill in the town before we left. After our whole trip we still found this tour to be the most memorable, personal, and informative. Eric is well educated on the area and history since being his home town and gave everybody a taste of what San Jose is really like at it’s roots. I would highly recommend this tour for people who are unsure if they want to explore San Jose or it’s your first time in Costa Rica, we now have a new found appreciation for the food, culture, and of course Eric.

Had a wonderful morning with Eric as our guide. He's very knowledgeable and open to sharing that knowledge with visitors. Culture, food, markets, history - all part of the time with him.
