At 14,410 feet above sea level, beautiful and majestic Mt Rainier is an icon in the Washington landscape—an active volcano and the most glaciated peak in the United States, creating six major rivers.

This day trip nature tour to hike and/or snowshoe around Mt. Rainier National Park begins with a Seattle hotel pickup followed by a scenic drive to the park in a luxury vehicle. Upon arrival, enjoy Seattle coffee and pastries before starting the trek along the Nisqually Vista Trail. Be on the lookout for wildlife wandering around the mountain at any time.

This all-day Mt Rainier tour includes frequent stops to take pictures and enjoy light snacks. A picnic lunch of locally sourced, organic foods (grilled chicken or salmon, sandwich or wrap, with a grain or green salad and water or soda) is also provided midday.

At the end of the day, it’s back down the mountain to take a relaxing return trip to Seattle.

Overall, solid experience.

Overall, pretty great experience. Our guide, Marty, was amazing and very knowledgeable about the entire Seattle area and was top-notch from start to finish. There were also two trainee tour guides, Karen and Lindsay (he’s a guy for the record), and they were both awesome as well!! They were knowledgeable about a lot of things as well and they all had fantastic customer service skills. Kenzi was also very helpful throughout the booking/confirmation process!! We booked with ease and were able to coordinate well with the company. The tour itself was awesome and fun overall. But I do feel that it was a little overpriced for what all we were/weren’t able to do and see. The pictures and info provide and an extensive list of all the amnesties and things included, but there was so much snow that we didn’t get the full experience of going to all the places and seeing all the things. I was really looking forward to seeing Reflection Lake but was unable to because of the snow. It would be nice if the info was separated out into what you will see depending on what the weather is like, and the price could reflect that. Still a great experience, but I would suggest people book in August/September to get the full bang for your buck!!

Hi Marice, Thanks for taking the time to review your experience, though I am sorry to hear that you feel like you did not get the experience you were looking for at Mt. Rainier National Park. Mt. Rainier is the largest mountain in Washington State and since the National Park itself is 369 square miles, we don’t get to see everything on a single day tour regardless of whether it is spring or summer. It may not be the popular opinion, but we sincerely believe that Mt. Rainier is spectacular and worth visiting all year round, which is why we run our tours through all four seasons. Travelers who choose to visit the National Park in winter and spring get to experience a winter wonderland. We get to snowshoe off trail to quiet corners of the park, when the travelers and crowds are few and it feels like we have the park to ourselves. The snow covered slopes enable us to fully understand why the Pacific Northwest stays so green all year long as the snow that originates on the top of that mountain starts to melt away and feed the surrounding regions with water that is so needed during our dry summers. We take pride in sharing with travelers as many of the best highlights we can see in a single day trip from Seattle when people often have a limited amount of time to spend on their trip to Washington. If you are looking for a more extensive experience in Mt. Rainier National Park, we encourage you to consider our 3- and 5-day Mt. Rainier multi-day tours. We hike, eat, and sleep out in the National Park and have much more time to circumnavigate the area by both vehicle and foot. We encourage guests to reach out to us with any questions and so that we can learn more about what they’re excited to explore. This is also why we call each of our guests before their trip to tell them what to expect and how to prepare like the phone call I had with you. We'll take a look at our tour information page and see if there is any need for clarification about our highlights for our winter excursions – perhaps we can make it clearer that we still experience snow on Rainier through early July. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts after your trip. We wish you the best on all your future adventures. -Kenzi, Evergreen Escapes Team

People make the difference!

When my fiancé and I were planning our honeymoon and decided to make Seattle our destination, we had so much we wanted to do and see we weren’t sure where to begin. We found an all-inclusive Olympic National Park guided tour, and decided that it sounded perfect! Unfortunately, we waited to long to book our reservation and this tour was booked solid during our stay. The Viator customer service was SO helpful in finding this tour hosted by the same tour company of Mount Reiner(or Tahoma, as our amazing tour guide informed us was her native name)that was still available during our visit! The convenience of being picked up at our hotel was an excellent touch, and we were excitedly greeted by Jann, our amazing guide, with snacks, water, and of course, paperwork to complete. Jann did a great job introducing all the guests on our tour to each other and facilitated an awesome sense of camaraderie amongst our little group. She kept the 2 plus hour drive there fun and educational, pointing out all the best times to take photos at specific scenery, giving us detailed stories and history to everything relevant we passed along the trip, and engaged us with conversation and fun little “assignments”, as she called them. The coffee and lunch that were served was delicious and nutritious, and Jann informed us was all locally grown by a local co-op, or sourced by the co-op from other small Washington farms or gardens, which gave us an excellent taste of what the state has to offer! The snowshoe hike up the volcano was fun, and offered breathtaking views and photo ops, with Jann encouraging our group to take photos and have fun along the hike. The walk down the Trail of Shadows was so beautiful and perfect as an after lunch activity, with Jann sharing a story that incorporated what she had thought us earlier about the tree species that were native, and very important to the ecosystem of the volcano. Jann has a great ability to tell engaging stories and keep them relevant and educational that made a huge difference in this tour. On the ride back, she had the perfect mix of letting us nap while keeping the stories and assignments alive to close out the experience. Thanks Jann, for an unforgettable experience!

Great experience all around. Couldn’t ask for a better day! Jan, our guide was awesome! She was the driver, teacher, photographer, chef just to name a few of the service she provided. The group was small so I felt like I was just hanging out with friends I just happen to meet on this tour. Thankful for a memorable day!

Since the Mountain Rainier was closed, we changed our plan to National Olympic Park. The trip includes a variety of geographic scenery, the falls in forest, beautiful lakes and coast. Sean is a professional and knowledgeable tour guide. He could introduce the history and fun anecdotes along the trip. He is also very responsible and careful towards the guests. I actually booked the trip the evening before the trip. Luckily, the operator and the tour guide catch me up without any problems. I do enjoy the trip a lot.

My fiancé and I had an awesome experience! Our guide Sean was excellent, informative and made our tour of Mt. Rainier extraordinary! He was there each step of the way; over the mountain, through the old growth forest and waterfalls to make sure each person in our group was having a good time. The booking process was easy and the tour company Evergreen Escapes was very helpful in answering any questions. I would highly recommend this tour and tour company. Ask for Sean when you book!
