Kick off your culinary experience at a traditional, cozy tavern in the heart of Seville. Your guide will provide a rundown of the typical tapas menu and offer tips so you can select and order the delectable small plates with confidence.

To begin, embrace Seville’s long history of family-run tapas bars and enjoy an aperitif of homemade vermouth with a variety of snacks.

Next, stroll through the winding medieval streets of Triana and bite into shrimp served with beer. Continue on to a third stop and bite into several homemade tapas washed down with a sangria-like drink or local wine.

Finish at a family-run shop known for it local sherry wine served straight from the barrel.

During your evening tour, expect to taste 10 different tapas—enough for a satisfying dinner.
Itinerary
Stop At:
La Antigua Abaceria
Your first tapas stop: a family-run gourmet grocer famous for its sherry wines served straight from the barrel with flamenco flair. Here we’ll start our exploration of the true tastes of traditional Andalusia with cured meats and a cold tomato soup originally from nearby Cordoba.
Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At:
La Grande San Jacinto
Then, it’s time for a treat the locals love, fresh shrimp from the neighboring province of Huelva and ice cold beer!

Stop At:
Calle las Golondrinas
Just on the other side of Triana’s main pedestrian street is our third tapas bar of the night. Opened and run by the same family since 1962, this spot is an absolute Triana institution. The key to their success is their reduced menu that’s been perfected over the last 50 years, and we’re going to try a few of the star dishes. Their most famous is the city’s best pork sirloin—bought fresh daily from the neighborhood market—and addictive grilled mushrooms. Both dishes go perfectly with the local substitute to sangria or a local wine.

Stop At:
Casa Remesal
Finally, we’ll wrap up the evening at a local bar that’s been open since the 1950s and is run by a second-generation Triana family. This spot is a favorite among bullfighters and flamenco dancers and their home cooking draws crowds from across the neighborhood.

Sara was a wonderful, knowledgable guide. In fact, she did such a nice job, she seemed to be hosting us at her own home. Sara showed a real love and knowledge of Seville and its history and that came through in our tour. Each venue was unique, and their tapas and wine were, too. We had generous servings of food and wine, the walks were pleasant and the general tone of the whole evening was wonderful. There was ample time for chatting with Sara and with our fellow tourists. We would highly recommend this tour.

We did this tour on our first day in Seville and it was the perfect introduction to the city culture! The tour guide was great, gave us lots of good tips and info on what the locals do. We visited a few different bars and restaurants, and tested their specialty for food and drinks. We really enjoyed them all; in fact we liked one of the restaurants so much that we went there for dinner the following night! I recommend it, specially at the start of the trip if possible, so that you get some tips on where to go and what to order.
