Great trip

Really enjoyed this trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius. Our tour guide Antoninus (Tony) was knowledgeable, polite and fun. Everyone enjoyed the trip. For Vesuvius I would recommend wearing decent trainers and be prepared for a steep incline. Would recommend this tour.

Tour guide Tony and Nelo were superb!

We went on a day trip tour of Pompeii and the summit of Vesuvius. We were conveniently picked up from the hotel by the driver and tour guide that would take care of us all day, Nelo and Tony. Nelo’s expertise of the road always took us on the best route. Tony’s kindness and knowledge were in top form, always looking after the entire group and making sure his instructions and facts were well translated. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide and day. Highly recommend; thanks Nelo and Tony!

Lucia was incredibly informative and an excellent guide on our tour. However I think if we were to do this again we would go to the Hurculeum instead of Pompeii (less crowded and better preserved) but glad we had the experience. Walking up mt Vesuvius is a must do! Lunch was only €14 and the food at the chosen restaurant was delicious
Fun packed!

I had a great time but I really didn’t want to hear about the Tour Guides personal love life! Did not pay for that.

This tour was great! You didn't see absolutely everything in Pompeii but saw the most noteworthy. It was pouring rain on Mt. Vesuvius so we couldn't go. We drove back down the mountain and the sky cleared above the mountain. so they brought is back up the mountain. Very thankful they did this.
Daniela was very informative - speaking in both English & German

A great tour which we highly recommend. Greeted by Daniela and welcomed onboard the bus, the day’s program was explained in full in both English & German. Once at Pompeii it was a great help having earphones to learn about its history. Mt Vesuvius is a tough climb, especially on a hot day, however it is not mandatory and our bus driver had cold water for those needing it as well as outlets to purchase food and drink from should you wish. Cannot fault this tour, even for a non-history buff like myself and Daniela is a true professional, very knowledgeable and warm. 10/10!

interesting trip with a lot of information, but between Pompeii and Vesuvius there was a lunch break in an isolated place where you did not have what to do if you did not eat.
Good overview of Pompeii

Good overview of Pompeii but you need a full day at least if you want a deep dive. Mt Vesuvius time was all that was needed. the food place that we all werre taken too was more like a fsat food catering hall I suggest you go on your own if you can. Our tour guide Roberta was awesome she made it worth it.

It was really great to be able to do both of these things in one day with lunch in the middle. The climb up Vesuvius and the tour of Pompeii were great. One thing to know ahead of time though is that they bring you to a restaurant for lunch in between the activities. Many of us thought that this was included in the price of the tour but it was not, we got a bill at the end of lunch. The voucher does not say that lunch is included, but the tour guide ushered us in as if we were obligated to eat there or as if it were an included activity. Just make sure to bring extra cash for that lunch.

Amazing tour and very well organised...

Amazing tour and very well organised. The pick up point in Sorrento is a mission even after detailed instructions as it's not that obvious for those just visiting! However, once on the tour bus, we got plenty of information and Rafy, our guide was funny and knowledge. We first went to Pompeii on a hot day and saw the main sights together, where she gave the details. She manouvered us in and out of busy areas very deftly! However, I definitely think we could have spent more time visiting some other highlights here rather than spend 2 hours at the lunch place! That was termed optional for 14 euros each but when you are on a tour bus, the choices are limited. The restaurant is large and looks grand, and the lunch menu was varied and food fresh, unlike others that I have been to, so that was good. We then moved up to Mt Vesuvius, which had incredible views and I totally loved the journey as well. It is so atmospheric with thick forested areas around you - I wasn't expecting that. Also, the grand houses along the way are so neat and again something I wasn't expecting on an active volcano. You get to the base on the bus and from there, you can walk uphill on your own. Do take the cane that the guy at the start offers we paid him a euro at the end - even with sport shoes and being fit, the gravel on the mountain is pretty loose so that will definitely come in handy. It had rained that morning so the ground was a bit more slippery as well. All along the way, there was a big cloud cover and on the crater too. it didn't bother us as it is such a special thing to do and was the highlight of our trip. It takes around 20 minutes at least to walk up and down, longer if you have frequent stops, but the tour gives enough time to do this.

Our guide on the way to Pompei and in Pompei itself was amazing, very informative and interesting. We spent 2 hours in Pompei and in very hot summer day it's more than enough. Don't forget to take water with you as there is no possibility to buy water once You enter Pompei. Our guide took us to all most important sites in the city and we certainly got the idea how it was to live in this city before vulcano destroid it! After Pompei we were taken to
A great trip thoroughly recommended...

A great trip thoroughly recommended. A must to see the vast site of Pompeii, without the guide to point out the key areas of interest you will miss them and even if you spent a couple of days you would not see everything. It is possible to do this on your own, but because the size of the site, you will miss so much. It is an appetite wetter, as you will probably want to visit again. Mt Vesuvius was included in this tour, and although the weather was overcast and we didn't get the fantastic views across Naples bay, the crater is very dramatic with the hot steam rising which these conditions emphasised. Beware of the walk though. They say 20 minutes, and I guess if you are young and fit, like the school parties that were there on the day we went, yes 20 minutes, but for us it took 40 minutes and my wife never made the crater. A tough climb.

Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history and funny. An email was sent to us with instructions of our meeting point and time of pickup. We enjoyed our time in Pompeii it was an amazing time!

Transportation was convenient and comfortable. Lunch was ok. Pompeii tour guide was knowledgeable, but headsets had tremendous screeching which made it difficult and painful to hear. Vesuvius guide did not wait at the meeting point for the entire group so we were completely on our own.

Great experience. Would advise that if you want to get to the top of Vesuvius, you need to be prepared for one heck of an uphill hike, with limited time to do it. Other than that, Pompeii was amazing, our tour guide was outstanding.

Our guide for Pompeii was Fabio, and he was a font of knowledge - his enthusiasm for the site really shone through. He was able to really bring the ruins to life, and gave us a glimpse into the daily workings of the city. The pace of the tour was perfect - not too fast, but we were not hanging around either. The ruins themselves are amazing, but the help of an experienced guide really made a difference by making this a very enjoyable day.

The Pompeii experience was great. It was very crowded on the day we went so we appreciated having a guide who could take us to places to avoid the worst of the crowds. Vesuvius was worth doing but don't expect a very active volcano. It was again quite crowded and full of souvenir stalls.

My husband and I have just returned from Sorrento we booked with Viator for the Mt Vesuvius and Ponpeii tour and Christine was our guide for the day she was great very knowlegable and very passionate for the history of Pompeii and Vesuvius. We were picked up from our hotel at 8.00 and returned at 6.45 so along day but it was worth it. We were given radio transmittion deviies so you never missed any thing. She also saved us time queing she got all our tickets and we paid latter on the bus.The very top of Vesuvius was unguided and was free to make your own way but the views were amazing. The tour was very informative and well organised. I would highly recomend this spendid tour with a life time of memories
Punctual pick up at our hotel...

Punctual pick up at our hotel followed by a drive in heavy traffic towards Naples. The guide was interesting and knowledgable, we had time to look around the souvenir stalls while she collected our tickets. Pompeii was an incredible experience although very busy with other visitors we had a real feeling of what life was like at the time. A value lunch at a nearby restaurant gave us time meet others on the trip then on to Vesuvius where a gradual sloping walk of about 300m took us to the top where we could look down into the volcano or take in the amazing views over the Bay of Naples. All in all a fantastic day out.
