The guide was awesome, really good actress impersonating her character, I got the chills! (Although it’s not a “ghost” tour, so you know). It’s a fun and different way to know the history of Gastown, I really liked it!

Great tour of the historical Gas Town.

The location to meet is easy to find and the tour starts on time. The tour guide is excellent in acting out the script to tell the history of Gas Town. The walking tour takes you around Gas Town into back alley and refurnished historical building, the old fire hall. The 1.5 hour tour is well worth the tour fare. Strongly recommend to join this tour for the insight of Gas Town.

History told in the eyes of George

George our lost soul guide is a very good story teller… you can actually imagine what happened in the 17th century… i love the part where his wife got the small pox and was thrown into a stockroom and George was trying to knock the door down but cannot… so he and his wife ended up talking with the door between them… it was so heartwrenching to watch that scene… it was an outstanding performance by Emmett (the real name of George)… also the guides does not breakout of character until the very end… it’s a very nice way of walking through history…

Dramatic history

Very dramatic historical account of Gastown history. Felt like I was watching a one man play. Enjoyable but a little over the top at times. Would still recommend to give others a sense of the city origins.

Hi Melody, thanks for your review. Sounds like you enjoyed the Lost Souls of Gastown but were surprised by the amount of theatre involved. Our actors do take their work seriously and throw themselves into their performances. It is a one person roving play as you rightly describe it! Our other walking tours are more traditional and don't have the same degree of live performance -- I recommend you check them out, they might be right up your street! All the best and hope to see you again before too long.
