The chocolate museum is perfect for couples, families and groups of friends. We took the chocolate-making class and it was such a fun activity to do with tasty ingredients! The owners were welcoming and helpful and made the whole experience even better. If you are in Vienna, this must be on your list of activities!

Great fun making three chocolate bars of my choice. Marianna was very knowledgeable and easy to learn from. Best part…making hot chocolate from scratch and toasting our experience with all the members of class

Fair enough for kids, you can miss it in Vienna without been sad, I think you can compensate it with many other activities for kids.

It did not worth the price, the instructor did not say anything about the history of chocolate and was not nice at all. They were is hurry and didn’t show anything. I would not go again.

Fun, but not fully what expected!

This was a fun activity but not quite what I expected. Reading the booking information I hoped the activity would follow was they stated - first we would learn about chocolate and its history, then make some bars and hot chocolate. However we were not told anything about the history of chocolate, instead we just picked some toppings and placed them on the chocolate (which was filled for us) and then we made hot chocolate, this was slightly better as the lady described the process a little more. We then collected our chocolate bars and finished. It felt slightly rushed and not really that interested. The mix of group included non English speaking people and children (one that cried a lot at the start). It was nice to do and all that, but nothing special really - they must do the same thing over and over again therefore their enthusiasm for it has gone!

So much fun and delicious chocolate!

We had a wonderful experience at the chocolate museum! Plenty of samples and things to try. We just had the best time and she was so sweet and sincere! I liked all the interaction for the kids to be able to choose topping and create new combinations. They also really loved getting to make their own hot chocolate with the ancient tool. The museum was a bit cheesy, but informative. Lots of good photo ops! Would definitely recommend!

A little disappointing
Rebecca_G
, Oct 2021
Although we enjoyed it, it was not as advertised and therefore a little disappointing. Things that were stated to be expected yet were not included are the following: - "Our chocolatier will present you seven steps of chocolate consumption (sight, hear crushing, touching, detect smelling, texture, taste, aftertaste)" ...NO, DIDN'T HAPPEN - "After the workshop, you will receive official Chocolate Museum Vienna signed certificate." ...NO, DIDN'T HAPPEN - "After a short introduction, we will go through the whole process and start tempering the chocolate! We will also take some time to tell you more about the different sides of chocolate and to explain you the theory behind of making the best chocolates. This workshop is organised so that you can understand the basics of chocolate making. Our goal is to spoil you with the various flavours, smells and tastings." ...NO, DIDN'T HAPPEN What ACTUALLY happened: - We were allowed to sample several kinds of chocolates - We were given a small plate in which to put topping for our own chocolate bars, then we watched the instructor fill a mold with the chocolate of our choice, after which we "decorated" with our toppings. That was pretty much the extent of our involvement. - The instructor showed us how to make hot chocolate, but pretty much did everything herself. other than to let us froth with a traditional Aztec tool. - The entire "demonstration" took a total of 10 minutes, and then we were told we could walk around the museum while we waited for our chocolate bars to harden in the fridge. There was no teaching or discovery of chocolate making at all. If you have kids I can see how this would be fun to do with them. Overall, we enjoyed eating lots of chocolate, and the museum was fun, but extremely small.

July 2021 - This venture was my daughter's idea, and I'm glad she insisted. The counter staff and the chocolate making instructor were top notch. They were both friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the chocolate process. We had fun making chocolate bars and putting our personal touches on each bar. The museum was short but very educational in nature. There were some fantastic photo opportunities, as well. I feel it was worth every penny!!

Cute place but I was expecting something more upscale. It was more like a place for a children’s birthday party.

Vienna Chocolate Experience
David_C
, Jan 2020
Chocolate was good. Very disorganized with children participating without parents so they were sticking their hands into jars of toppings for the chocolate. Way too many people about 20 for one machine that dispensed the chocolate into the trays. A lot of standing around waiting. By the end couldn’t wait to leave. Could have been really good with less people and more organization.
