Your day trip will begin with pickup from your hotel in central Vienna or the Vienna State Opera. Enjoy a scenic drive with your guide as you travel through the Hungarian countryside before arriving in the country’s bustling capital city.

On arrival, enjoy the first impressions of Hungary’s capital, sometimes called the ‘Paris of the East,’ and magnificently set across the River Danube. The famous river splits the city into two districts: Buda, the medieval quarter, and Pest, the commercial heart. Hear how these once-separate cities were united, along with nearby Obuda, to form the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1893.

See top sites on a coach tour through Pest, passing the Parliament Building and the Opera House. Admire the statues of the Seven Chieftains of the Magyars in Heroes’ Square, sweeping panoramic views of the city from Fisherman’s Bastion and the waters of the Danube River. As you travel from each major landmark, learn the rich history behind Budapest and its architectural gems.

At lunchtime you have the option to wat in a typical Hungarian restaurant (own expense).

After lunch a walking tour through Buda awaits you. Experience the historic Royal Palace, the romantic Fishermen’s Bastion, Matthias Church, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Margaret Island with its gorgeous parks and recreational facilities.

Your day trip will conclude with transportation back to Vienna.

Wonderful day trip
, Jul 2022
We had a great time. The hotel puck-up waws punctual. One of the guests forget their passport and they gave a couple of minutes to go back to his hotel and pick it up. We made up the time on the highway. We had several walking tours and free time. The views and details given made this beautiful city come alive. Well done!
Company deceitful but guide was great
, Jul 2022
First, the pickup from the hotel is a complete fabrication. We selected a hotel from their options and received a confirmation with no time or location confirmation. Their response to our query regarding this was that they don’t pick up from that location. We had to walk 15 min to the Opera house, as did every other person taking tours that day. Noone got hotel pickup. We had a one hour delay due to traffic (accident backed up on the road) and another half hour loss due to traffic in the city due to protests. But our guide from the company and local were amazing. They salvaged it completely. .
A little unfortunate, however good overall

Everything was well arranged except for the traffic jam building up at the highways right outside of Vienna on the way to Budapest. That short section alone took an hour off the trip. Would suggest drivers to check on Google maps/Waze for optimal route prior
Differentiation of Budapest and Pest

The ride from Vienna to Budapest was informative. The guide kept us abreast of trip details and delays. The rest stops were timely. The tour of Budapest could have been less rushed.
Full refund

I wouldn’t know - we were left behind - we were confirmed to be picked up at our hotel only for them to call us 10 minutes before they were leaving on the trip to tell us we needed to meet them at the Opera house instead - we couldn’t make it there in time - so they left us!

Great day trip from Vienna to Budapest. You get a chance to see both the Buda and Pest side and significant historical landmarks. Guide was friendly, only wish was more time to see everything. Great day trip, but probably could have spent a few days there soaking up all the sites.

My husband and I enjoyed our day trip to Budapest very much and we would both recommend this tour. We were able to make friends with some of the others on the tour and even hung out with them during our free time. A couple things that could have been better: the tour guide was very nice, but a little hard to understand. I think most of it had to do with the bus' microphone which made everything sound a little distorted and garbled. She also kept switching between Spanish and English which made it hard to concentrate. Consequently, we did not learn as much from her as we have from other tour guides on other trips. Another thing which could be improved, is to receive the list of necessary requirements more than 24hrs before the trip. I couldn't find anything listed on the tour page about Covid requirements which would have been helpful. If a PCR test is required (which it is if you don't have a vaccine), people need time to book an appointment to get the test and then wait however many hours to receive the results (especially when they only guarantee results within 24hrs). More advanced notice, or information on the tour page itself would be helpful. We appreciated that we were given a lot of free time to explore on our own. Our local guide also recommended a great restaurant where we had some amazing local food. Overall, we enjoyed our trip.

Picked us up from the hotel on time. An easy way to get a small overview of the city.We really enjoyed the old city tour. For the new city they just let us near the Heroes square . Our guide in the bus suggested to all the group a nice restaurant as she said, for a lunch all together near Heroes Square . The restaurant's name is VAROSLIGET .Just avoid the restaurant and say no to the guide that insists to have there lunch. The food was awful. We all stay hungry .We just spent our money and time for a disgusting meal .

We take your feedback seriously and naturally, it will be forwarded to the department being concerned. Trip was well guided. The preplanned meal was very good and a good sample of traditional Hungarian food. And it was a significant cost savings than if you ordered it off the menu yourself! Local guide was very knowledgeable but I wish we would have walked a l
