Robert was a great guide. Fun and a wealth of knowledge. Liked that there were just 10 of us, not a huge tour bus. The grounds of Mount Vernon were spectacular. Never knew how large it is with spectacular views. Highly recommend the tour

Great tour guide and beautiful scenery. The museum on site is phenomenal-don’t skip it. Just disappointed there was construction on the cupola that day. But I understand necessity.

More time is needed to see and experience all that is at the Mt. Vernon. A full day is needed to enjoy what Mt. Vernon has to see.

Pleasant ride to Mount...

Pleasant ride to Mount Vernon with a friendly and knowledgeable driver, however, not a real “tour”, more like a glorified Uber ride. Which is fine since the price is about the same :)

The driver was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We were also impressed with the importance placed on being on time for departure. The tour of the GW mansion and grounds was well organized and very informative.

Bobby was our tour guide, and he made the drive to and from Mt Vernon very enjoyable. He shared the history of Washington and Alexandria with us so that my younger son could begin to understand what happened here so many years ago and that what we hear and read about comes to life.

Really enjoyed learning about the other aspects of George, and life at Mount Vernon. Beautiful views of the Potomac River, and lots of elements to the property to explore and learn about. Well preserved, restored and curated.

Not worth the $

Cheaper to Uber to Mt Vernon and purchase tickets on your own. Driver was not smooth on the gas/brake. Bus needs new shocks as the ride was very rough. Do not recommend

Overall a good experience
Cathy_A
, Jul 2022
The grounds were beautiful. The mansion was very well done. It was like stepping back into 1799. Great experience. I was thinking the guide would give us a little bit of a tour on the grounds, but it was only guided on the bus ride there and partially on the way back. So slightly disappointed, but it may have been my own error in reading the description.

Just being in our first presidents mansion along with all the grounds never thought in a million years I would take so many tours I'm usually shopping but I'm so glad I took this tour other than them needing a bigger more comfortable bus it was all good
