Meet your guide and group in the morning at Nikola Subic Zrinski Square. You’ll get an introduction to the current state of Zagreb’s food scene and its rich history from your guide before departing.

Start the excursion by savoring Croatian foodstuffs with a meat platter at one of Zagreb’s top restaurants. Those who want to get the party started early can enjoy an included taste of “rakija,” the local brandy.

Stay hungry as you proceed to Dolac Market, the largest farmer's market in the country, where you’ll savor the celebrated sheep’s cheese produced on the island of Pag. Then wash it down with some juice while you sample Croatian marmalades and spreads at a third food stop. Your hunger now satisfied, you’ll enjoy some city sightseeing as you take a ride aboard the world’s shortest funicular up to Zagreb’s medieval Upper Town.

Enjoy an exploration of this historic area as you visit landmarks like St. Mark’s Church, Lotrscak Tower, and Strossmayer Promenade. Once you’ve burned a few calories, head to your next food stop. You’ll get the chance to sample typical Croatian dishes as you taste either "sarma" (stuffed cabbage) or "punjene paprike" (stuffed peppers), depending on the season. Wash it down with some "gemist," a local beverage that combines sparkling water and wine.

Finish your food and sightseeing trip by visiting the Gric Tunnel, then stopping for a cup of tea or coffee before your finish at Bana Josipa Jelacica Square.

This is a great choice to get a taste of local fare along with a history lesson. Petra is a walking history expert and her accounts of Croatian's past and local folklore are a delight. Start the tour on an empty stomac.h
